My Dad has a Ford cargo van he uses for deliveries, I think he said it's at 350K+ and still runs. I've had nothing but good luck with Ford trucks.

Honestly, it's about damn time Ford started competing in the mid size market. I've always liked Ford F150s, but for last few years the Ranger has seemed to be neglected and ignored by Ford and by the market. Hopefully Ford will start competing and give Nissan and Toyota some competition.

    1. I'm cracking up at anyone who commented about what it looks like, since you can't really tell yet.
    2. It's a promo piece, branding... pure an simple, whetting the appetite. take it for what it is.
    3. It's a Ford, so I'll pass (there's a reason I buy only Toyota and Honda at the moment).

From the video yes, i see your point (in regards to #1), but if you google 2011 Ford Ranger, you can get full body shots. Based on that, it is obvious to formulate an opinion.

A Subaru Outback can do all the things in that video.

They're making it so complicated you can't lift it with load control this, roll control that...cause if I had it I would want a lift on it...looks pretty gay as is...just sayin:D

I liked Rangers I had in the past though. It was a lot smaller truck.

I don't understand why a US based company would completely alienate the mid sized truck consumer. They haven't done an update to the Ranger in what seems like an eternity. My only guess is that the sales on the F-150s are doing well enough that they don't think they need a mid sized truck in their line up.

A "Mini-Raptor" would be pretty sick though.

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
To bad it will not be available in the US, I would definitely look at one if I was in the market for another mid sized truck. Time will tell how dependable the new ford trucks are, I had fewer issues with my old bronco and f150 than I have had with my 2nd gen taco ( I know thats not the norm but it's my experience). If ford could make a halfway decent looking mid sized truck in the us I would consider it for sure, but for now I will enjoy my taco.

Close, but from what i've read, it's because they are afraid the Ranger will cut into the F150 sales, and they want to keep that F-series most sold car for 34 years (or w.e the record is) alive. I say they called it F-100 and add it to the F-series. Mini raptor would be awesome!

Went with actually getting some competition.

First video was a good representation but nothing too crazy.
Second video - front end looks like a weird crossover/EDGE mixture; anybody else think it looks like a big Outback(just the shape)? Ford has stepped their game up with trucks lately too. The motors they are putting out are hard to beat. As mentioned earlier though, lets see how it lasts and durability.

Tell you what we think ? I don't know about the "we" , but speaking for myself it's 5 mins. I'll never get back, A bunch of little 3 & 4 second clips of some kind of truck going thru some not so hard terrain in some shitty inclimate countries isn't impressive to me at all it even really fails as a marketing teaser & I'm no Ford basher by any means, hell I've even got some old Ford springs in the rear of my now labeled " ToyForda". I don't know how it compares to a 2nd gen. , don't have one... I think the smartest thing the Ford promo people can do is step back for another year or so & watch a Toyota 1st gen. show them how its done, as of this moment theres no doubt in my mind at all that I could do circles around it if what we're seeing is the best it can do... & it must be , after all this IS a promotional vid isn't it ?? Pretty much a fail, but I DO like the Raptor though. just my $.02.....
