I can only think of one hybrid manual ever sold in North America (Honda Insight). It would be awesome if Toyota paired the hybrid power plant with the 6MT, but it's just not even remotely realistic.

It would be a large engineering expenditure and split manufacturing on an already niche model. I think Toyota typically put out around 12,500 manual 3rd gens per year. I mean c'mon, maybe just be happy a manual exists at all in the 4th gen?

Also it's a turbo, you'll undoubtedly be able to tune more HP stock and probably have aftermarket options for an upgraded turbo and fueling if necessary.

they already had to detune the 2.4TT a little bit for the 6MT due to “crankshaft hammering” … no way it could handle the hybrid output

Interesting, do you have a source on the crankshaft hammering? Just haven't seen any info like that yet and would like to.

Ugh why would we want this? Just read a post about a guy getting his truck broken into via the signal from the truck. I'm perfectly happy with a key

Edit: I'm also perfectly happy they don't offer the Mt in the hybrid drive. I don't want the added complexity or weight.. I bet you can add quite a bit of power with a downpipe and a tune anyway

Did I miss it, which models are coming with the Manual Trans? I’d love to have the two door prerunner model with 2wd here in FL.

The key also emits a signal when you unlock. I understand the risk, but I will take the convenience of a push button start.

Doesn't look like the prerunner will have MT. Based on the info available, the Xtra Cab will not get an MT, only double cabs. Not sure about long beds yet.

It sounds like 2 different tune Manuals, low output on the SR and the 270HP version on the Sport and Off Road.

They still kept the left - right steering wheel volume control

And the prop rod for the hood!

I'd like to see if the limited full time 4WD can be paired with the manual.

    6MT has standard accumulator delete.

    Heads up display too

Biggest for me is the power tailgate!

28:50 He says, we do offer the 6MT in the ORP? Is he referring to the Off-Road Pro? TRD Pro? Off Road Premium?

great video, that one blue got cloth seats heated steering wheel and heated seats
if what we see on the 3rd gen holds true for 4th gen, there should be a package that upgrade it to have softex ventilated seats

I heard that too. I think they mentioned ORP in a different point too earlier in the vid... I think it is Off Road / Pro. Seems to me the manual will be SR/Sport/OR/Pro?

I was on the fence about getting a 23' MT because I was 98.9999997% sure the MT would be a gonner. BUTTTTTTTTTTT after seeing the 24' and how butt ugly it is (at least at the moment), I think I'd rather take my chances with a 23' and probably save $10,000.

I disagree, 4th gen MT with auto rev matching, no accumulator and increased torque can be a total blast to drive and worth that extra $10k
