The one I got is literally obsolete now- it’s over a decade old lol I have the box (for lifetime warranty via BEST BUY install) so I could lyk, but they are long gone. Next time mine has an issue- Best Buy will have to install a newer model.

The irony... Amazon delivered this to me this week. What's the difference? NB Laser vs 200 ??

Having purchased aftermarket "Spyder" shit non, OEM housings and "projector" lenses in the past.... and having the housings yellow and haze mere months out of 12 mo warranty... (sand paint and fade again...) no way i'll pay for anything other than an OEM housings going forward.

Personally I am not keen to bake and dis-assemble/reassemble myself just to do that (Ultimate type upgrade) mentioned by others. So i'm going to keep it relatively simple and:

    1. Installed remanned denso alternator
    2.changed idler pullies
3.Changed some rusted screws in engine bay
    4. Added 14 in portable tv that flips down from bed ceiling
    5. Made bracket for PlayStation
    6. This is a well-known fact that our Tacoma‘s can’t take the weight of two batteries. Therefore, I made a bracket that went straight down to the frame that I bolted in with 8 mm bolts and tapped in to frame. It is hard as hell right now.
    7. Changed serpentine belt
    8. Did the big 7 1/0 wire for jeep wires.com

Swapped my softopper for a hard cap. I was on the fence but I really like the look and the space this provides. Ordered Yakima roof tracks today and will start to work on a rack system for the cap.

The one I got is literally obsolete now- it’s over a decade old lol I have the box (for lifetime warranty via BEST BUY install) so I could lyk what it is, but there’s no point. I do recommend getting one from Best Buy- assuming they still offer lifetime (of the ownership/operation) warranty coverage on their installed equipment. I’ve have the entire unit replaced twice; once when the brain fried for an unknown reason- and if there are any other issues in the future, I will get upgrades to what’s available now (for free) since my original model is obsolete.

I know it's a controversial topic but today i wanted to fuck around and find out.

It's been a year since i put a new suspension on it. It improved the ride alot (the original suspension was pretty done at 135 000 miles), i tested so many setting on the damper control, tyre psi, coil spring rate and the truck alignment. I was close but never reached the "smooth" ride i was looking for.
I watched a series of video from Overland Outfitters last week blind testing a couple of shock setup on a 3rd gen Tacoma. These test was not very scientific per say but these dude know their stuff and it raised some question in my mind when they talked about body roll and ride quality. The test was done on-road and off-road and they where glad to not have a sway bar on some combo because the ride was stiff.... This was a lightbulb moment for me so i needed to try for myself with my setup and i'm very surprised by the result i got this evening.

Took a short drive on the highway and on a few bad dirt road i know and i can say that the ride improved alot. Took all the corner the same speed, tried to swerve left and right. The body roll is here now, it's minimal but the truck still very easy and predictable to drive. I will add some weight this weekend to re-test but i think i understand why people have removed this part and never put it back.

I will need to do some safety test to push the VSC to see how this affect the traction control when reacting to a fast steering input, for now it seem to arm/kick like before so i will be good to push it and feel how the weight move when the system take control of the truck.

Mine was sketchy when I took it off for a short period. When I went to drift around on a (closed gravel road), my truck almost snap oversteered. It was sketchy af, and I didn't appreciate it so much. I came from the thicker TRD Sport sway bar, and moved to a thinner TRD offroad sway bar. I think it's a decent middle ground. Although, when I wasn't driving like a jackass offroad, it was worlds better. For free basically.

I just put these in mine like a week or 2 ago. The instructions on their website are pretty good.

Only pointer I would say is get the longest 17mm wrench you can find for the bolt that holds them in. That SOB takes some torque.

Totally worth it though. Best way to get some extra oomph from the truck.

Who needs new wheels when you got a case of rustolium

    20230519_021302.jpg

Also made some mounts for my new bump stops. Some exhaust pipe, nut, bolt and spacer saved me $30 from buying fancy pants ones.

It's that's what I apprehend, if this happen i still have my 700 coil in a box and i'm still on the very soft side of my shock damping control, i will probably try to dial that first to see before putting the Sway back. Glad to know there is alternative, didn't know there was a difference between the Sport and off road sway bar thanks !!

I'm so happy with mine off. I have done emergency maneuvers on back roads trying to make it feel sketchy and sway so I'd know what to expect in a real situation and it doesn't sway. It feels and acts the way its suppose to. Smooth and predictable. I have 285 75 16, sliders, a low profile front bumper with a winch. My coils are 600 pound eibachs on their pro truck coilovers that were designed for a 3rd gen. (Third gens way a good bit more than our trucks) so I feel that may have a lot to do with how stable my truck feels without the bar. I don't see myself putting it back on ever.

Headlight haze was not repairable and I had melted DRL surrounds so I replaced the headlights and gave it a quick wash before attempting some paintless dent removal.

I have been a fan of Adam J. Turley's application of his mechanical engineering degree to products for the Toyota Tacoma and other makes and models since I brought the DLT (Dad's Last Truck) home to care for. First came the screwed together fob cases, then climate control knobs, and this week ordered the battery hold down and the v1 5MT shift knob with red anodized allen head screws plus a set of black oxide SS screws ($5, add a buck for the anodized set) so I saved a dollar!
Today, the Taco was fueled up and given the free red wash at Hippo, courtesy of a recent service at Parker Toyota. Back in the garage, I'll start applying the emblem overlay decals from TVD to the sides and tailgate (color-matched, so it should give an understated chrome outline).

Well, folks, I just so happen to have found a 12" sub that fits like it was made for the double cab Tacoma and will knock your head off!!! Probably should have done some video but you'll have to cut the brackets and strip that run along your back seat but once done, this thing fits behind the passenger rear like an absolute glove. Just tight enough you need to firm it into place but then there is absolutely no rattling, shaking or whatever and it sounds freaking off the charts!!! Cost is minimal compared to what you'd pay for a Taco specific sub.
