“Tacoma Chief Engineer Sheldon Brown tells me that this transmission is going to be great for so many different situations. Are you new to driving manual? The new Tacoma will be able to tell when you’re about to stall and will lend you a hand via some throttle. Brown told me that the anti-stall feature will be great for off-roading, too.“

It'll be interesting to see how these compare with the GMC AT4 and X Canyons

    $65k ? where?
I see them under $60 in some sites again it depends what you are installing in the truck from factory . A regular OFF road 4x4 with the technology package should not be more than 50k . otherwise why not go to a tundra?

Anyone else catch that the iforce max makes peak torque at 1700 rpm? Thats a huge step in the right direction i think.

They have to balance out their CAFE limits somehow. With the bigger tire trims and more powerful engines they have to get back the (average) MPG's somehow.

I agree, this truck is nice but not proven . I will wait and see how many issues the first batch will have.

looks exactly the same as my 3rd gen which is disappointing. That is the only gripe about my truck , for someone sitting in the back with the seat in the position where i seat is very uncomfortable

True, if you can find one without steps or some accessory, but still TRD SR5 with advanced package will run you $60k. People crazy if they think a 2024 PRO gonna be less than a basic SR5 TRD tundra given all the features we see now. And again it’s a different market segment.

Odd that TRD Offroad isn't shown yet...
I am hopeful that the Pro and Trailhunter can be ordered without some of the flashy stuff. Really don't care of the seats in the PRO and think the TRD thing is a bit overdone. Trailhunter is pretty sweet but not crazy about the ARB stuff everywhere.

I will be ordering - hybrid version for sure. Excited to see our options@!

So gauty inside there’s pro on all the d*mn doors and space man seats. It’s cool but I think they are catering to a new demographic, these were always simple and dependable trucks now it’s a who can outdo who on the instas and I get it they have to keep buyers with what the domestics are bringing to the segment but I don’t think they’re gonna be the same simple reliable trucks they have been.

The TH is for specific buyers. I think it's the best looking out of all the models. The wheels and color combo on it are pretty nice.

Agreed! I wish they gave the back seat a couple more inches of legroom.

I think it's defintely a multi demo target with these models.

    TrailHunter - Gen X
    TRD Pro - GenX & older millennia's
Limited - Boomers, Late Gen X
    Sport - Millennia's, older Gen Y
    SR - Pest control companies
PreRunner - Failure to launch people

That's right, I got it all figured out!! Or just a guess.

Before we knew anything about the PRO, and assuming it would be like the outgoing one that was more or less an appearance package, I would have thought over $60K was ridiculous. After seeing that the PRO is more than an appearance package and really a more Baja centered truck, there's a compelling argument for it to be priced high. BUT - if that's the case, you can go and get a Ranger Raptor with better performance specs for less. So, its a crap shoot to guess what the pricing will be. I just can't imagine Toyota being completely out of line with the competition.

I’m an older millennial (37) and not a fan but I can see my neighbor snagging one to drive to pick up the kids at bus stop for sure.

$60k ain’t far from the $58k ranger raptor, they’ll for sure sell them even at $60k but agree somewhere in $60k area.

    I guess I'm GEN X - just turned 50. I've owned EVERY Tacoma generation.

This one does look rad - but the Pro is almost tacky. Outside, it looks really good though. Trail Hunter inside is the best, just loose some of the accessories. It's available in long/short bed which is rad!

Could be back to a Sport for me all said and done. I kinda like modifying myself instead of buying a truck with everything on it already.

I heard some folks thinking the Ranger Raptor would start closer to $52K, which is why I made that comment.
