All the engines do. These 4cly can probably make more torque at lower rpms then the 5.7l V8 in the tundra.

Agreed. Have owned every gen since high school, may wait this one out, don’t hate it don’t love it besides the pro exterior. It’s not bad but not like I must have this.
This will probably be my next truck and departure from Toyota loyalty (I know blasphemy here) as kids show up in the picture:

For sure, at minimum, a $3-5K increase. OR, as I said somewhere else, maybe they pull a page out of Subaru's book and don't do a price increase (recent Crosstrek is being offered the same as outgoing model).

Almost forgot - the new TRD sticker looks generic lol...
    Tailgate automatic sucks.
Bed looks shiny and smooth - like the old one better.

Can't wait to see the MPG

Seems like there is plenty of room under the hood with the little 4cyl. Why would they put it under the seat? Do they do this with the Prius? Pardon my ignorance, lol.

They did this with the tundra it’s the way the platform (they share) is setup and drivetrain.

Like I said its possible to find a Tundra TRD off road with regular packages under 60k easy. If you put every little accessory there is on the truck or useless expensive packages then of course is going to hit a much higher price. For the everyday joe that only wants a truck that has the essentials and regular packages 50k is a lot a money for a midsize truck (TRD OFFROAD) . Hell if my 3rd gen would have a regular sitting position for the driver more rear space and more low end torque i wouldn't trade it for anything. Some people want all the bells and whistles ( and will never use ) and some people want simplicity and reliability with a little update in tech. I paid 37k for my offroad in 2021 in the middle of the pandemic. Paying almost 50 for basically the same truck + some tech is just crazy!.
Toyota has to be wise on the pricing. they have a lot more competition now and you can get a Z71 well equipped well below 47k. People now are more frugal with spending and with 8% interest rates now people want more bang for their buck regardless of brand. I love toyota and always been a toyota user but they have to be careful how they going to price this truck

I am not hopeful to see any big difference in MPG based on the highlander with the same engine is basically the same mpg +1 mpg highway

The current access cab does poorly in side impact tests, so losing the rear door will fix that.
