The real disappointment I see is the 4d cab has a very small back seat area. The door looks to be smaller- I did pay attention to many vloggers say they are not supposed to show or focus on the back seat. That these were preproduction models and to expect changes.

My hope, this is goping to be a global truck... however it would be hard to push a smaller cab in the US/ Can market. Could there be a larger cab only for the us? I sure hope so. The back looks really small, so disappointed on that aspect to it will be a deal breaker

Anyone else see this as a problem?

You need a full-size truck if you want a 4-person hauler in a truck platform.

It looks like it is smaller... I have two girls and they have plenty of room in my 2005. I don't need a full sized truck just one that is not a civic or corolla on steroids.

    Truth!

I’m a 6’4” guy and yes I got the Access Cab in 2015 because the DC front seats don’t recline as far as my AC seats do. The rear seats are for I surname purposes for me, lol… I wouldn’t want to spend any time riding around in the back seats.

I get your point but at the end of the day, they sell more DC 4 doors are the biggest seller. So why I wonder why they made it smaller (Or it appears to be). We need the spec sheet I guess in route mid summer.

The rear doors look shorter to me when compared to a 2nd or 3rd Gen.

Just spit balling here, but maybe Toyota doesn’t want to provide too much of a value proposition for those who’d otherwise buy the tundra. My sense is the Tundra isn’t really killing it, and their not going out if there way to pull even more customers to another model.

no, I bought an access cab because I don’t want people in the back, the Tacoma would work for smaller kids or passengers less than 6’, but I don’t see how 6’ 220lb guys could be comfortable in the backseat.

an I don’t see a different US based model of the same truck

The cab on the new model is not smaller than the 3rd gen. I am 6"1 and fit behind myself just fine, lol.

If you have "wide" family members and want a rolling couch with people stretching their legs out as far as they go, none of the midsize vehicles are enough. In fact, not even full size vehicles, just get an SUV with reclining backseats and you got all the room and comfort you want.

Anyways I could see this new gen being an inch or 2 larger in the back.

I heard the Tundra, Sequoia, Grand Highlander, and Sienna are great for rear passengers! Never heard of a mid size truck being bought for spacious rear passenger hauling.

See the difference that I see is that people in most countries just want something that they can fit in and ride around with decent comfort.

Here in the USA, if 16 yo little timmy who is 6' 240lb can't fit in the back of a vehicle while stretching his legs all the way and feeling like he is the living room couch, then the vehicle can't fit any sort of humans in the back, even small or regular sized ones.

Unless I read it wrong, there's no such thing as an access cab anymore just two door model (welcome back single cab?); and no back seats back their either, just bins.

I also thought the 4th gen back seats looked smaller but I just watched TFL YouTube channel 2024 vs 2023 Tacoma and it shows the 4th gen back seats are actually more roomier than the 3rd gen.

Yeah - the smaller rear window on the 2024 makes it look like the rear is smaller from the outside. But it looks fine on the inside. The TFL review gave a good comparison.

I was under the impression, from the tfl video with the engineer, that the cab was the same length but a tiny bit taller. Would cause it cab to appear shorter if they did that. I don't sit in the back seat so kinda of a non issue for me. Now my dog might care, thats her domain lol.

Seems like the normal seats should yield similar rear leg room as a third gen. Pretty interested to see how much extra space the ISO seats in the Pro take up. Everyone is saying they are standard but I am really hoping you can option them out.
