That console handle seems really goofy and a waste of valuable space.

If the hybrid setup is anything like the Tundra hybrid, the mpg won't be much better than the regular iForce.

The TFL video was funny when they were showing/fake impressed by the exhaust sound. It sounds like a little Honda Civic to me.

Leg room doesn’t look great in the rear, especially with the ejector seats.

Nice grab handle by the door pillar though,

The way of the times… Formula 1 engines now a 1.6l V6 turbo hybrid, yes the make crazy power and have great mpg but I wish they brought back the V12’s screaming at 16,000rpms.

Curious to see what kind of common issues arise with this truck. My next truck will likely be a Tundra at this point, but I've still got a few years left with the Tacoma. Currently at 100k. May reach 200k in another 3-4 years.

Big formula 1 fan here, and I agree completely with you , nothing like the v12s and v10s . The sound was scary and amazing at the same time

my main concern as far as the engine goes is the Turbo!, specially if is in the back of the engine. If that goes , you have to take the whole engine out to replace it.

Yeah I don't know of any turbos that are easy to replace. Ford's issues with the EcoBoost always seemed to revolve around the turbo waste gates and not the turbos themselves. Seemed like the Tundra had issues blowing gaskets early, but someone said they fixed that issue. No idea the validity of either, especially since I can't find any mention at carcomplaints.com

Power tailgates to satisfy those who will be trading in their small SUVs and are already used to their power hatches. I wonder if it’s too early to to start issuing TSB’s for the motors that operate it.

My Tacoma has a 400lb tailgate and hood to match and doesn’t care, and yet that’s exactly how I like it. My 6yo lifted it for the 1st time the other day like a Viking right of passage.

    Soft Shelled Taco?

Good thing the wastegate on the Tacoma is not the same one as the Tundra. The one in the tundra is electronic. The one in the Tacoma is a regular wastegate which makes it more reliable.

Don't understand the idea of putting halogen turn signals in the TRDs when we get led in the TRDs now! ;I guess they want you to pay for them as well as upgrade?

It was the Ford EcoBoost that had the waste gate issues and those were traditional, I believe. What would happen is people would drive them too gentle for too long and carbon would build up forcing the gate to not operate as intended.

They put LED tail lights into the 2nd gens and took them away for the 3rd gens.

The bigger concern to me is those headlights. They're LEDs, but projector LEDs with no separate beam for your high beams. I've driven a few vehicles like this, including the 2023 Highlander. The high beams are terrible and may as well not even exist. All they do is remove a shutter so the beam shines slightly higher. It doesn't get any brighter at all.

well , that is certainly not good news. that is why i keep saying that no matter how much they did as far as technology and features , if the truck is not reliable then what's the point of buying a Toyota then?
