We'll see what happens. It isn't a brand new engine, which is the good news. Bad news is neither was the 3.5L from the Tacoma or the Tundra. They were all tested in Lexus vehicles first from my understanding.

As the owner of a Pro with MT, if I trade mine I think I’d get either the Off Road or Sport with a MT. I’ll be interested to see the Off Road. It seems like they’re targeting different buyers with the new Pro; I think it’ll be great but I am intrigued by the changes to the manual transmission. I don’t think I need any of those assists but it would be helpful to be able to teach my daughters how to drive manual. My son and wife and I are the only ones who can drive a manual currently. I do like the simplicity of the current trucks. Looks like quite a few things to break on the new ones; I’d definitely get the extended warranty on the new ones. I didn’t get the extended warranty on my 2022.

Toyota might make those an option because of that

The 4Runner has a separate beam for high beams. The turn signal is on the outside for the 4Runner.

To be fair, leg room looked reduced in the rear in general. But I take that with a grain of salt because the show trucks likely had the front seats back quite a bit to show off the space in the front.

I never said it would start at 50k but a loaded one most definitely. A TRD OR with advanced tech and premium runs you $46k now. $3k price jump similar to Tundras jump and your looking at $50k for a loaded TRD OR I bet. You definitely took my comment and misread it of course bare bones won’t be a huge jump but no one really buys them like that and Toyota has been breaking up packages to increase pricing since 18.

You can't get a MT with the pro because it's a hybrid . I think his name is Kirk and he asked the head engineer that question
They couldn't make it work so I bet a lot of pro bros get mad that they have to choose a sport or offroad lol

the guy from Redline review got in the back and stated is basically the same space as the 3rd gen, as least that is how he felt. which if true, it sucks big time i was hoping for at least a little more room

Got it, thanks for clarifying. Bottom line we need to see the real prices to really judge and compare :)

FYI the Tundra 2022 price increase over the 2021 ranged from 2k to 8k (model dependent) I think? I wish I could find the side by side breakdown someone did on the tundra forum. They also have increased the price by 1k to 2k since then. I doubt the numbers will be that high for the new Tacoma, but I bet it will still be a hefty price increase.

Yeah, the Tacoma has them too. However, the 4Runner and 3rd Gen Tacoma both have separate bulbs (non-projectors) for the high beams. The problem isn't the projector as much as having the high beams using the same projector. All it does it move a shutter and shine the beam slightly higher using the same beam of light. It isn't any brighter and barely makes a difference. I've tried them on a few different vehicles including the 2023 Highlander and a 2014 Ford Explorer.

I mean, they are mid size trucks. I can get people relatively comfortable in the back in a pinch, but if I need to do it regularly I'll need a bigger vehicle or our 4Runner.

Yeah, sounded like it has something to do with where they put the electric motor in between the engine and transmission. I’m not mad; I wasn’t set on a Pro, but rather a manual. The nice thing about buying a Pro is not having to specify which packages you want. I could only find off roads without leather and without the technology package where I live. With more torque at lower RPM, the new manual transmission turbo combo should be great. My quandary is keep mine and add a supercharger or at some point trade it in. Glad to have first world problems. I was hoping not to like the new Tacoma so much.

I guess it depends on your height and how far back you set your seat. I'm 5'11 and put the seat relatively close ( not to miss the clutch ) and when someone sits behind me they barely fit. That is my concern with this new one as well.
