I am not a fan of cruisers, but I must say, that is one good looking bike.

    Good stuff.

Indianapolis swings above it's weight, bringing in large numbers in both riders in dollars in recent years.

Part of the appeal is we have a local guy and a Guzzisti who casts these exceptional awards. Burnishing this years batch last night....

This is my 8th year. I'll run the G5 again this year. Ya'll should feel free to donate to a good cause, and one that brings broader visibility to the motorcycling scene aside from what most people think of...Baggers and the sport bikes that "scare the bejeezus out of them" on the highway....(recent conversation at a local eatery when I walked in with a helmet and sat at the bar)

Reading the last bit I guess I'm the oddball because I only want one bike. :notsure:

Maybe that will change if/when I get a garage?

That is a LOT of bike for 2K! Not a cruiser guy either, but those bags and bits are all high enough to get jiggy wid it on the Vermont roads. Enjoy!

I only have one bike because my garage is small.. If I had a bigger garage, I would have all the bikes

A jack of all trades is a master of none, but still better than a master of one. :p If I lived where there was pavement I'd likely just have a cruiser, but because I have to go over my garbage road I went with a well rounded bike. I don't really have interest in technical stuff or lots of dirt. If I can run down the forest roads, I'm good.

Yeah, with no garage I only want one. I do have a storage unit for the winter, but I hate the idea of storing a bike too.

Could leave it out, but id think you'd have more maintenance to do in the spring

Yeah, my lament about storing is more about the fact that I don't get to ride it. I hate maintenance, but it's just part of the deal I guess. Picked up some chain lube the other day, and should probably clean and lube the chain. We've had a lot of rain.

Question: what is recommended for cleaning a chain? Can I just WD40 it and wipe it down with a microfiber, then hit it with the wax based lube I snagged?

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Most certainly would hook you guys up.

I always thought WD40 attracts water, which would be bad. I think you can use Kerosene?

the WD in WD-40 is for Water displacement. so I think that might be wrong.

WD displaces water, but it can sometimes attract dust a bit. It's crap for lubrication though. People use it because it has good lubricating properties when fresh, but after it evaporates/dries it's not worth crap. If it was I'd use it for both the clean and lube. I just know I don't want anything that is going to be bad for rubber for 2 reasons; First, the o-rings in the chain. Second, I'm sure I'll accidentally overspray my tire.

    Mine once it was finished.

Sort of a barn find needing only light restoration work. It is repainted with reproduction decals but the side covers are NOS with original paint that my painter then used to make sure the tank matched up.
