Am I maybe the only one who thinks Sport and Limited should just merge into one? I guess DCLB is the one thing Sport might have which Limited won't? But not sure I fully understand why and they are both targeted as premium street options.

The manual transmission has "RPM matching" and "Anti Stall". Sigh. I just want to drive my truck, not have my truck drive itself. I want a manual that's actually a manual... heck, the RPM hang in the 3rd gen M/T is irritating enough.

I am curious what can be upgraded via options too. While I love the higher clearance bumper on the PRO and Trailhunter, I think a well equipped TRD OR would be a better bang for the buck. But I say all this not knowing what the pricing and options will be.

Is the trail hunter not the most expensive? Maybe the silly Pro seats make it the top dog?

Looks like the 4th gen is getting lane keep assist; that’s one feature I wish my 3rd gen had.

Based on the way they have laid out the trims on the website it looks like the TRD Pro will be the most expensive, followed by the Trailhunter and then the Limited.

That’s what I had in my original post I paid 37k back in 2020 for the off-road but since everything was msrp and above since the pro was the way to go

Based on a button on the center console, it looks like those features can be turned off if desired.

I would agree in regards to the previous generations, but with the edition of the all wheel drive in the Limited, I think they are finally differentiating it from the Sport. Also, I think the DCLB might be available on the Limited.

    True.
Stalling my MT OR is a good sign to either take a break or pay more attention.
Seems like a solution looking for a problem.
That RPM hang is thankfully mitigated by the extra work of a tune.

I see the Off road getting sunset if the trail hunter and pro get a decent enough share of Tacoma market. Not sure it would happen until a refresh, but as others have said, news about the OR seems too light.

For me, some of that actually has some legit appeal, I find Limited more tempting were I in the market. I assume no MT for Limited since it'd be iForce-Max but for MT on the Sport vs OffRoad I see no real reason whatsoever to prefer Sport even for mostly street duty.

Sport used to be a decent deal, very capable on and off road, easier to get, AC and MT options, nice appearance package, just as moddable, only major thing missing was the locker/crawl/mts stuff.

What is sport now? Just a cheaper Limited without bells and whistles?

I thought so too as well. Given that the Trailhunter has all those accessories installed that would make it more expensive I think

Maybe what's most funny is, with 8 different official trims, they have made a ton of confusion for buyers looking for specific capabilities. It'll be a rather large truth table of what you can actually get for each specific trim, which is kind of how buyers think. Meanwhile the purchasing tools typically start at the trim and then select options.

could be, I think the trail hunter will be the new most expensive variant. I mean the Pro has those seats, but besides that the trail hunter has alot more addons

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
