I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
It's that "but" part that gets me!

Plus you have those that will only look at the Ranger, Colorado or the Heep because of them being American.

‘American’ it’s almost laughable that people are still using that as an excuse.

They already make those conversion kits, its a couple grand and really not worth it. 4 wheel disc is nice and I hate to regurgitate the toyota kool aid, but the drums are fine. I wouldn't choose them when building a vehicle, but they're fine.

I am perfectly fine with my stock tune after the ECU reflash on the TSB. It doesn't drive like a WRX, but it's a truck. It's not as gentle on hills in cruise control, otherwise it's fine. I leave it in sequential 5th and haven't had any gripes.

Meh. I like MTs but the convenience of an AT is just worth it.

I do wish it was selectable like my old mazda instead of sequential - so you can start off in 2nd, but otherwise, no big deal.

Look for the turd gen guys to do that to the 4th gen :spy:

Just boredom and superiority complex, wanting to be better than someone else for anything they can hunt and peck at. Not worth your time. You can get a smaller truck than them - not a real truck. Bigger truck - too much truck, overcompensating, are we? Same truck but newer - show off. Same truck but older - clapped out. Same exact truck, same condition - I had it first, poser. Just ain't worth your time.

I wonder - I know the gladiator can run 35s on some of them without modification. Wonder if they new Tacoma w/ the stock 33s will be able to take 35s :spy:

The parking brake in my wife's Highlander is automatic. When you put it in park, it engages, and disengages in drive. I think if you hold the switch for a moment while it's in drive, the brake holds until you hit the gas.

    I have read more

Access cab will not have rear doors, it's solid cab + 2 doors, no back seats, no back doors.

    > Also enhancing ride and handling characteristics on Tacoma is a newly available multi-link rear suspension. This system replaces the previous model’s leaf springs in favor of a set of coils. However, leaf springs remain standard on SR, SR5 XtraCab, and TRD PreRunner grades.

    > Electric power steering

    > Additionally, the aluminum tailgate features an available power open and close function with jam protection, and a quick release and close button is integrated within either taillight.

    >Gas grades offer an available 400W AC inverter outlet in the bed and on the rear of the center console, while i-FORCE MAX grades come standard with a 2400W AC inverter. 12V DC power access is also available in both the bed and in the cabin.

    >Trailhunter features an integrated high output air compressor in the bed for airing large diameter tires back up quickly after airing down for spending days, or weeks, on the trail.

I don't see anything (yet) about if you can stuff 35s from the factory on the trim that comes w/ 33s. But I am intrigued, to say the least.

There's no way you're stuffing 35s in there without the same kind of work as now. Hell you can very nearly fit 33s now with the right offset, but 35s are substantial lol. Electric power steering also sounds sus, as does the electric tailgate that will definitely fail eventually

My main question is, how easy is that tailgate to steal?

Might be harder if there are motors involved, definitely gonna cost more to replace when they're successful :anonymous:

35s are a big jump up from 33s. 37s seem like an even bigger jump than 35s though

The gladiator trims come stock 33s (i think) and are rip roaring ready to go for 35s. The 33s trimmed fourth gen is going to be on a 2 inch lift already. I wouldn't be surprised if they can fit a skinny 35 factory.

It will probably be just as easy to take off BUT it sounds like it's going to be electronically locked from the factory, which is the biggest hurdle. An unlocked tailgate theft is a crime of opportunity. When it's locked it takes effort - the opportunity just ain't there.

But yeah if and when it does go with all that in there it's gonna be $$$

Wonder if the base trims will be more geared toward a work truck approach. That's all so much superfluous bullshit even for a consumer, let alone fleets.

When it comes out and after the initial mobs calm down I'll probably test drive one and if the price is right on MSRP and trade in :spy: but i have a strong suspicion it won't be right for MSRP. Trade in might be flexible but also might be a little rough.

I'll day it here if i can get into an OR for a net of <5k between trade in and an OR, + taxes, I'ma send it.

I say + taxes because this is Rhode island and we suck at trade ins on trucks.
