You'd better build a vault out of AR500 plate if you plan on packing valuables; those San Francisco homeless can get into anything.

anybody gonna bite on a 4th gen? I'm sticking with my 3rd gen until I get t-boned. The new truck is sweet but I don't need the $20k upgrade or whatever it's gonna be

Ive been hating it, but its starting to grow on me. Im still not a fan of how the roof line ends in the back with the spoiler. But if they have some super cool colors I might bite on one in 2026.

Maybe I will just get the airdesign front bumper and call my truck a 3.5 gen :)

The panel goes over the front bumper and just has a silver "skid plate" made of plastic. Im actually pretty surprised that the 4th gen front end looks so much like the airdesign front bumper that came out like 6 years ago.

I really want to get that bumper along with the airdesign tailgate spoiler.

Yellow is my weakness, though usually I'd prefer it on a sports car rather than a truck...

I'm intrigued with the 4th gen and pleasantly surprised the MT is an option, but no way I'd buy the first couple years of a new gen. Especially after the trouble that Tundras had with their turbos out of the gate. Hopefully what they learned from that will benefit the Tacoma but I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig.

Is the manual only a option for the non-hybrid model? Or can the hybrid versions get it too?

Only non-hybrid unfortunately. That 400+ ft-lbs of torque would be so fun I bet...

Also that means no MT for the Pros and Trailhunters, since the hybrid engine will be standard on them.

the 4th gen looks like they nailed it - and I'm super happy they kept the 6MT - but it's just not going to be worth the upgrade from my 3rd gen. The prices are going to be sky high for the well-equipped trims.

    She stays for now

Bet our 3rd gens with still be worth a good amount here in MN. The cold is not kind on hybrids or electric cars in general.

I was a Guinea pig for the 16 taco and don’t plan on doing that again. I’d wait at least a model year, plus that gives the aftermarket time for all their stuff to hit the streets

Depending on your mechanical skills, lift height, and if you have the coilovers preassembled you can do it at home fairly easily.
With a basic mechanics tool set it took me about 90 minutes to install a new leaf pack and rear shocks. And 2 hours to install the front coilovers because I had them preassembled.

But if you aren't a do it yourself kinda guy Zeus is pretty much the go to off road shop. Be prepared to spend around $1500 for the install.
