I'm not even sure I like it! It's an improvement for sure, but some of the styling is too much for me.

I've been fooled by car release photos for sure in the past. So I'll wait until I see one in person.

It's a potential. More than likely between this and the next Ranger.

Yes. I'm not thrilled about a hybrid because of the added complexity, but maybe the MPGs will make me forget.

    I agree somewhat.

The added complexity is most certainly real. Long term I always have concerns with hybrids.

However, if anyone makes a decent hybrid system, it's Toyota. Also, we will have to wait and see for the official release, but the already published performance numbers + a somewhat goodish MPG numbers might make the hybrid version too compelling to ignore.

This is my take as well. I like many of the improvements, but the styling is going to take some getting used to. The only styling cue I agree with right now is the toned-down nose/grill; seems less 3rd Gen large mouth bass and more 2nd Gen-ish IMO. That and I'm curious about the paint color on the Trailhunter (is that a return of Pyrite Mica?!?). Otherwise the styling seems like they are trying too hard to cater to the younger crowd, which makes sense I suppose. Maybe in a few years I'll grab a hybrid one to complement my current taco, and by then any issues should have been addressed by Toyota and the styling will have grown on me. Also a little scared about the prices on these...

Yeah, issues like the peeling white paint and frame rust.

Not liking it at all. I didn't read the article, but did click on the pictures for a better look at it. About the only thing I remotely liked (quick glance), was the passenger grab handle incorporated into the center consol. After studying the pictures more, There was even less that I liked about it.

Sorry guys..... But a no go for me.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
I just want toyota to sell a 70 series stateside. I'd get rid of my tacoma tommorow for one.

I'm not interested in the new tacoma yet. Maybe the single cab option they were talking about.
