I mean I would buy one, but we all know, these won't be going for under or at MSRP. They literally won't be able to keep these on the lots.

Just like all the other car manufacturers price them over msrp just to get you into 1000 car payment. Bring something new out and no more msrp.

    Looks good to me.
FWIW, i dont think it looks that different from the 3rd gen.

I also like the new Tundra and Sequoia.

I probably wont get the new Tacoma when its time to get a new vehicle though. More than likely ill get a Tundra.

    Overall,

I think this is the best looking Tacoma to date.

    In terms of aesthetics.

    1) 4th
    2) 3rd
    3) 80's pickup generations
    4) second gen
    5) 1st gen

I don't really care for the looks, but I also don't really care, as I bought a '22 last summer, and won't be buying a new truck any time soon.

I think it will look dated in 5 years though.

I heard it aptly described from someone as, "That's a very nice looking Toyota Silverado"

I, myself, would prefer a more subdued look, but you can't fight the market when it comes to trends.

I’m holding off judgment until I see an SR, but a midsize pickup shouldn’t cost over 40k.

They shouldn’t but times have changed. A decked out Toyota Camry will run you close to $40k. If that’s the case then the price of a midsize truck with options is justified above that.

Inflation / Covid really messed the markets up. The only way we go back down is with a reset / painful depression IMO.

It looks like any other new truck. Obviously people have a hard time telling what make/model of truck is on the road these days due to the over branding.

Just remember folks, it was built with the cheapest parts and labor they could find.:)

I'm in the market for a new camping truck. I'd like a manual transmission and to remain a Toyota fanboy, so these powertrain options please me. The Trailhunter and TRD Pro look stupid as hell, way too much bro-swagger for me. The Limited looks like a low to mid optioned 1/2 ton, which I think look better than fancy trim levels gilded in fake chrome. I'm surprised it looks a little subdued, more like something an adult would drive and less like something a dude who vapes and wears a flat brim hat would drive. I think the Sport looks pretty damn decent except for the huge air dam. I'm very interested to see the SR5 and regular-ass TRD Off-Road. Hoping there will be a way to option one with a 6 foot bed, stick shift and locking rear diff. Anyway, lots of photos can be found here:

Having done long road trips in my 3rd gen and 2nd gen, I prefer to drive the 2nd gen every time.

Although I don't hate what I've seen so far, pictures don't tell the whole story for me. Lots of things can be over or understated depending on the angle of the camera.

I'll reserve judgement until I can see one in person.

I bought a '23 out of necessity and really hoped the '24 would confirm I got lucky needing a new truck now, but I like the looks of the new one. I won't switch mainly because the price will be nuts and I'm one of those give it a few years to work out the quirks guys. The stats and look of the new one pass the eye test for me, but to each their own. It's a truck that takes me places and can haul a little bit while it does it, so I'm content for now.
