Well today has been a rollercoaster.

Closed on my house(as a seller), YAY!

Getting run around by banks trying to deposit the check, grrrr.

And capped it all off by a guy merging right into my left flank. FACK!

Damage isn’t catastrophic. Airbags didn’t even go off in either vehicle. Just bent sheet metal and scuffed tire/wheel in my end. But the guy came outta nowhere(must’ve been flying cause I always triple check this sketchy-ass X-ramp before merging). This ramp situation is sketchy because the on-ramp crosses over the off-ramp and you get morons exiting at interstate speeds, crossing through 20-30mph traffic that’s getting onto the freeway. And it’s busy at rush hour.

I check, double check, and check the off-ramp again, pass my yield sign, and suddenly this guy is right up my bedside. Instead of easily avoiding collision by lightly braking and/or moving left with tons of room, he continues right and coasts directly into my left fender, Despite me trying to make space and him having 30acres of roadway to do anything BUT hit me. Argh. It was like a super wimpy PIT maneuver attempt.

hopefully shouldn’t be too bad to get a bedside replaced. Just venting more than anything.

Got scared for a bit when I drove off and a mile down the road I get a horrible screech coming from the rear end. First thought was wheel bearing got sploded. But it was just the mudflap got bent over the tire and got ate up.

Ever wonder where all the Pontiacs went?

Sorry to hear about your truck. Insurance should take care of you.

Hard to get good pics of the extent of the damage, it’s caved in pretty good.

I’m not crazy anal about keeping my truck shiny and new. I don’t mind a little “character” here and there. But it’s still my baby lol, I prefer little battle scars that at least have a funny memory attached.

they all went into the rust belt to finish getting run into the ground. Lol.

PDR the panel and replace flare & flap with used ones.

    Move wheel to passenger side.

if the Pontiac is at fault, and assuming there isnt more than cosmetic damage. Get the check and put it in the bank.

Then grab a 6 pack of beer, and some Meguiar's SCRATCH-X and a microfiber towel.

Crack a beer. get under the truck and push the dent out as best you can (if you have a football / basketball you can deflate then pump up when placed between the quarter and frame even easier).

Then crack another beer while you polish out the scratches

crack a 3rd as you get a lil buzz and want to try and make it look even better with a little more targeted polishing.

    Wipe clean.

Crack the 4th, wax with your favorite wax

    let dry

crack the 5th to buff in the wax

crack the 6th for a hoorah.

Finally, buy someone's mudflap take off for cheap here.

Take the remainder from the the check and put it on red or black, your choice.

Thinking about doing the repair work. Why swap the wheel over though?

yeah, just cosmetic damage. I’ve taken harder bumps pulling out of off-camber driveways. I’ll probably pull it out myself. Kinda curious to see how well I can buff it out. Been thinking about painting the flares anyway.

Honestly id bet most of that buffs out really well. to the point that the 800ish$ check makes you overlook the few scratches that are slightly deeper.

Im inclined to believe you. Maybe I’ll try tackling it this weekend. Gotta gather my tools and do a tuneup anyway. I’ll give it a college try.

So you don't see the scratches on it when walk up to it! Just don't approach from passenger side....you'll be golden!
