I was reading last night that if you mess with a crow or a raven (and piss it off) it never forgets you and will f&*% with you after.
I had an altercation with a black crow recently and now the little sucker is outside my window all the time (with a whole flock of others) making a racket.....I swear it is trying to piss me off. They're even messing with the cat when she sits in the window!
Has anyone else had this happen? I don't want to hurt the thing but if this keeps up I'm going to have to call DEM and get permission to unload a bird on them. Any tips on how to get rid of them would be helpful, like I said I'm not wanting to hurt them in anyway.

Get yourself a Big Owl decoy it has worked in the past.

If that was true I should have had a Murder of crows after me all my life .

I was always tormenting them all the time as a kid .

Thought this was another Crow of Judgement thread for a minute… but the similarities in behavior are uncanny!

Throw out some peanuts as a peace offering. Mine know me when I go outside to feed them. Twenty years ago I got in a pissing match with a crow. Didn’t end well. They’re better as allies, believe me!

I was thinking the same thing (but bread not peanuts)..... did some reading today and they are some smart little creatures. I saw one that figured out how to displace water to get the food that was floating in a tall glass.
It just creep'd me out the past few days, I remember the movie "The Crow" with Brandon Lee.

Crows have a good memory, they are vengeful, and they will get others to help destroy you. On one of the logging sites, one guy harassed a crow. The crows started ripping the windshield wiper blades off the trucks.

Crows and ravens are smart. Like 7 yo human smart. I recommend *unsalted* peanuts as @ShinyTaco stated. Once they make you out as a friend or foe they let their friends all know what side of that fence you're on. They may continue fucking with you until you win them over. Pellet guns and other weapons may scare them, but will also piss them off. You'll know you've made peace when they start bringing you various shiny things they've found.

LOL, can’t get them hooked on carbs—then they’ll be even more intransigent!! But yea, they make and use tools; mourn, and work together. Super clever and very territorial. Plus the bread is gonna wind up in your bird bath as a prep sink (not the grossest thing mine have done to mine but still disgusting). Nuts will be collected and cached.

Well this is going to be interesting. My neighbors already think I'm a wacko, so trying to make peace with a murder of crows is going to send some gossip for sure .
I'm going to try some peanuts and maybe sunflower seeds.

A friend of mine killed a crow when we were kids. With his pellet gun. Holy crap what ensued was insane. At least 100 crows gathered and circled the house from above. It was like a sky of blackness. Then they were flying down trying to kamikaze us through his back door which was all glass. They would hit the glass, stumble, then shake it off and fly away. They really do watch out for each other.
