Lol it just helps with organization

This cart is meant for TIG only, and since I don't have a dedicated TIG welder, it'll only get pulled out when I hook it up to my multiprocessor

Being compact was the main goal as you can see by the comparison

    20230519_163232.jpg

By the way, these little caps from Amazon helped clean up the square tubing on the big cart

    You should!

I always look for ways to organize shit; my tables become a "catch all" and providing a spot to put things in helps with that

My cousin is coming over tomorrow who is an excellent wood worker who wants to learn to weld. He's extremely organized so maybe I'll pick his brain.

Ended up doing an oil change on the daily instead lol.

Oh yeah I finished the blocks lol. These were "smaller" for a Hilux. As usual I built them with the customers requested specs. He requested a smaller center section and over all top and bottom plate size. Standard sizes are 5.5"x2.5" with a center section of 5x2. These are 4.5"x2.25" with a 2x4 center section. Not much room on the sides so burned up the edge on a few spots. Gotta work on that.

You could always get some chill blocks to help
Something to help pull the heat away
    Or
    Start practicing pulse

You are allowed to do what you can to control the heat.

A nice piece of copper flat stock clamped to the tube makes a great heat Sink!

I have done that many times!

Has anyone ever heard of “dual shield wire” or “dual shield welding”. I stumbled across it on the internet and from what I’ve seen it seems it’s a flux cored wire along with running an inert gas.

Has anyone used it or know of when something like this would need to be used?

It's usually used when good penetration is needed on thicker iron. It's easy to use since risk of burn thru is almost non existent. I could not think of an instance where it would be the "go to" welding style for a home fabricator.
