Look up the Volvo electric power steering pump, you could probably swap that in and clean up the lines/engine bay quite a bit

In an LC it's not so much about the engine bay cleanup but more about how difficult it is to get to anything

The 7.5" front diff has held up well? I haven't heard of many of them breaking so CVs must be the fuse like you said, unless you had the wheels perfectly straight or something lol

 

I always thought it was surprisingly hard to work on stuff in the engine bay for being a big inline 6 i.e. the PHH and engine coolant drain plug.

yeah, I haven't had any diff issues when I was 3.91s/open or 5.29s with ARB.

I think the issue is this: the stock open carrier is not very rigid so if you put 4.88s/5.29s on it there is enough deflection from the added torque to increase the probability of spider gear or ring and pinion damage. A full case locker like the ARB limits that.

There's a local guy who wheels similarly to me and has chucked two 5.29 open front thirds in his 3rd gen 4runner

 

Sofia decided to use the bathroom by herself which was awesome, but I hear her yelling for me so I walk in and see that she's sitting on the toilet with her legs pressed tightly together which caused all her pee to come up onto her legs and spill all over the floor, sigh
