If it takes more than two revolutions then your engine is out of time. Some apparently came that way from Toyota.

Well after a day i can say that i will never put it back on. One of my friend is removing and building a new shed. After 5 trip to the ecocenters and 2 trip to get around 2400 lbs of 3/4 stone total in the bed i can say that the truck is dialed perfectly. I don't tow very often so i will need to test that too. My friend was so impressed with the smoothness, next weekend he will remove his sway bar too... (He have a 2007 Tacoma too with the same shock setup but with the RXT on the 3 option). I'm curious to seat in his truck when this happen, he have more weight than me with his front/rear bumper with winch and many other thing. He will maybe need to put back his 700 lbs coil or at least redial the high and low speed compression on the Elka.

I took the biggest pothole i saw to be honest i was sure to rip my mud flap on this one, anyone with a car will destroy front bumper and probably stuck the car on it. The truck did that gracefully, without bang, now the front shock now work as intended. So happy with that, now i can say that it's perfect.

I got it for some reason my dumb a$$ thought I had to align all the painted chain links too instead of the actual timing marks so I keep turning and turning to try to get the factory paint marks on the chain to line up with the timing marks and that made a 3hr job turn in to an 8hr one

Installed some Aerocatch hood pins on my Seibon hood and also lower headlight filler pieces to finish my 12-15 front clip swap.

Gave her a wash, clay bar (first time), and spray wax. Came out sharp and slick.

PSA about Tacomas and Energy Suspension radiator core support bushings!

    7516A67D-DABE-4152-B899-33F16FA1927D.jpg

Anybody considering replacing OEM radiator core support bushings with or thinking about replacing them with ES polyurethane bushings think carefully about doing this. Meaning don’t fucking do it.

My OEM bushings were shot after about 60k miles. So I was clever and used the poly bushings. Problem is they are really stiff. If you wheel at all or have a heavier or dual battery the weight and the flexing can cause issues with the sheet metal core support itself. I developed a 6” crack on both sides. Had a plate welded on both sides. On the passenger side another crack developed and went around the plate. Had that rewelded… and it happened again.

Poking around I found anothwe crack above it and multiple cracks in the engine bay.

You were warned. I have ordered new oem ones and am swapping out the ES bushings ASAP. There are numerous threads about this issue on Tacomaworld and other sites.

Note that the passenger side (without the heavy battery is the side with more cracks…, so it’s not just the weight of the battery)

I haven’t weighed the old one yet, but I bet it’s at least 25-30lbs lighter. It is quite noticeable when opening the hood now.
thanks man! And you should, they would pair nicely with those. Are those a +4 fender? You have me wanting a pair of those for my truck now:D

Non Tacoma related but my wife drove about 10 miles with the parking brake engaged on our ‘04 4Runner. I did a quick visual inspection but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. How bad is this?
