Nice, I'd like to see more muscle truck builds. I don't understand why we don't see more high horsepower 1FZ builds; if anything, the bottom end should be just as strong as the 2JZ, maybe even stronger.

Since I've been on this forum, nearly 10years now, the numbers have gone up steadily. Still not many of us but certainly a lot more. Turbo was nearly unheard of on one in 2014 I can only think of one 5vz turbo build from that time actually and I don't think he's on here anymore.

Thanks, I brought the rev limiter down for safety and turned it to soft cut. Tomorrow I can go for a rip and make sure it's safe to hit hard cut at the full limit

What are you aiming for boost and power figures?

 

1st milestone is a safe 300rwhp. Anything after that is icing on the cake, whatever I can achieve under 15psi will be the second goal. 300 is more than enough to make a high COG truck feel fun on the dirt and street.

 

I'm sure that'll translate to around 375 tq too, which will feel great!

Thanks man! Spent last night with my buddy matt welding everything cause my aluminum TIG skills are the opposite of skills and we really nailed the fitment. Hood closes and it sounds wicked. Filter should arrive today and I'm waiting on the heat exchanger to arrive Monday. Still gonna drive it though haha

 

IME those older autos don’t do very well off road either. My A343f constantly get like it was slipping or between gears in 4lo.

That's a you problem, or more like your LC.

This auto, or the other two autos, never felt like they were slipping in Hi or Lo.

The torque converter might’ve been worn out or something, idk. I never liked how it behaved on trails; I just couldn’t really get a feel for it like with a 5 speed where I just put it in gear and go.
