With the announcement of the Fourth Gen Tacoma, does anyone know when production of the current Third Gen will end? If someone is wanting to buy a new V6 or 2.7L powered Tacoma, seems like the next few months will be your last chance.

Yes August or September. Then production of the new model begins at a snail’s pace and slowly ramps up. The new models are held until November and then they start shipping to dealers for sale and to show off in showrooms.

    I'm glad I got my 2021 when I did.

No plans to trade-in for 4th Gen...although, they are nice!

I'll keep mine for the foreseeable future.

Get your 3rd Gen soon or else! lol

I think these late model third-gens will hold value for the foreseeable future.
I suspect gremlins, a natural byproduct will occur with the Gen 4's for a small while.

I wonder if both plants are still producing Tacomas? I think Toyota would want to begin retooling asap, they also have a handful of units as seen at the presser. I doubt if those test vehicles were built by hand. There needs to be some automotive investigative reporting done from the ground in Mexico.

I really think Toyota is going to need a third plant to keep up with demand, how will they ever get a 6th gen 4R out of the two existing plants with out effecting Tacoma production?

4th gens look good. Boxed frame, rear disk brakes, rear coil springs (although leaf springs appear to be an option).

Is 4Runner production leaving Japan for the Sixth Gen?

To deal with demand Toyota is raising prices.

Not as much as the late built 3g trucks out of San Antonio.:D No real reason a Guanajuato truck would fetch more coin than a truck built in Tijuana, if anything the inverse is true, and totally irrelevant.

Late 3gs will be desirable and hold value regardless of where they are built. I don't think the success are lack of, regarding the 4g will have any bearing on late 3g values.

I had my first gen for 20 years and three weeks. I hope my 3rd gen will last that long. I do miss the transmission dipstick, though.

No idea, but I speculate it will. I'm guessing the exact same wheel base from the 4x4 DCSB will be the underpinning of the 6G 4R, if Toyota continues the series it could become the Land Cruiser, maybe a LC and 4R variant on different length wheel base? I'd speculate the Limited 4G Tacoma with the center locking full time 4WD will share many components with the next gen BOF SUV.

Perfect time to pick up some hours as a valet to get a test drive.

I’m on my 6th 3rd gen Tacoma and looking at the new 4th gen with all of the new technology and gizmos I suspect the price will skyrocket and I’m probably not going to get into the 4th gens. Long live the 3rd generation Tacomas.

My threshold for this new truck of mine was $40K...it came in at $38,803 MSRP with just door sills & floor mats in May 2021.

I'd be surprised if the 4th Gen Sport would come close to what I paid.

I stopped by my local dealer and was told mid/late july. I've had my 07 for almost 17 years with 97k miles, and really thinking of getting a 3rd gen replacement. Really like my truck now, but in no way will I buy a 4cyl truck. I'm so torn!! I would be supercharging it right away though!
