Nothing. It rained all day.

Today I'll install the wiring for the ARB compressor and finish my install of the GMRS radio.
Here's the switches I've added, waiting on a couple more for final switch placement.

 

I know someone who's kid did this. Dragged a tire 2 blocks until the tire blew out. Was a brand new tire. I would check the rear tires for a flat spot to be safe. As long as both tires were rolling, with parking brake lightly engaged, tires might be ok.

The parking brake is pretty light anyways. I backed out of our driveway with it on once and only noticed some slight resistance before I had the lightbulb moment. Just wondering if that extra resistance over that distance would put strain on other parts of the car where I should be concerned.

 

Back at work Guy left trailer brakes on draged till he blew 8 tires. Mechanic went out replaced 8 tires, guy waved as he took off with brakes still set on trailer again draging again!

 

But the parking brake on wouldn’t damage the drivetrain on with the added resistance? It’s definitely not powerful enough to stop a wheel from rotating.

 

Depends on how hard the brake was set. Only thing is going to be excessive heat with the few rubber pieces there. I would pull one drum off to see what's going on.

 

Just stating fun fact the guy cost company around $5600.00 to repair not counting road call. Can't compare the 2 events at all.

Plan to remove the badges altogether on the tailgate- anyone got any pointers for that? Heat gun & fishin line?

Probably would be a good idea to pull the rear rotors and look at the emergency brake shoes. They might be worn out anyway. I would compare the front shoe to the rear shoe. If one has excessive wear would be time to replace them. A lot of people never look inside at the emergency brakes. They simply swap pads and never pull the rotor off.
For clarity I am talking about rear 4runner brakes so, for other 2nd genners, please don't look for a rear rotor on your Tacoma. You will be very disappointed.

I'm heading down to the garage to apply color matched vinyl overlays to the three Tacoma chrome emblems on doors and tailgate after starting with the smaller Toyota and SR5 on the tailgate last evening. Reminds me of the trip after I retired from Cordova, Alaska driving south with a 26' U-Haul box truck and my daughters following with the Malibu, as we all noticed the semi on the runaway truck ramp near Summerland. BC with the trailer tires and wheels melted away. The older of my two girls has a Belgian Malinois, the oldest of my three 'granddogs'... She's still a puller on walks, but no longer going on the practice runs. I waved at every U-Haul passing in the other direction, and 100% of those drivers waved back; we're all brothers in that "Adventure in Moving"...
