I think I'm gonna try it. I really only need it for days off when I try to switch over to sleeping at night vs during the day. Thank you.

    Morning all.
We got about 3 inches of needed rain here.
Enough to knock down the everywhere pollen as well as the oak "worms" and maple "helicopters".
Seems like more than normal this year.

As @bucktales said, some much needed rain here in Connecticut...the air seems so much cleaner. Maybe I'll be able to breathe like a normal human again. Pollen has been horrible this spring.

@MQQSE TY for the pics. Such beautiful country. I have been lucky to take two Alaska cruises with land tours attached.

@ImpulseRed008 You are correct! I plugged along for 4 years after a new IT regime took over. They put me on a :crapstorm: job hoping I would quit but I ended up saving the company almost $1,000,000 a year in recurring telecom charges. Hard to justify firing me with that type of performance. So, they had to RIF me 33 days before salaried employees receive a bonus. six months' severance and I turned 62 a week before the severance ran out. Then I was eligible for unemployment and SS for a year. I look back on it and know it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. So many positive things have happened to me since then, over 13 years ago.

Good morning. I liked the Posts about property taxes. I pay right around $4,500 a year that includes the city tax. I feel a lot better about the amount now.

Our city Farmers Market opens today. And I intend to be there after I go to the gym this morning. Home to knock a few items off the to-do list and then on to music and dinner later today.

Good Morning Cool Old Dudes and Susan
Tom , You are so very welcome, have a great day.
    :fistbump:
Interestng to read about both your pollen situations. It normally doesn't efffect me noticeably, but this year early on there were about 3 days I couldn't get my nose to stop running. I had to take some of my wife's Claritan ... she always has a rough time with it. I reckon we're part of the same trend up here.

Have a great day, be healthy, safe, and happy.
    RESPECT :oldglory:

    Morning all:

We got a little rain here overnight, I also noticed that the maple "helicopters" seemed to be well above normal this year, can't say the same for the oak "worms" since the gypsy moths killed almost all the oaks on the property.

    True.
When my late friend in Potter County was cutting a tax check for $700, I asked if that was quarterly.
He said no, that's for the whole year.
He had a bit over 50 acres house, barn ,large garage.

You'd have to explain that to me. I would think it would be just the opposite. Plus, less people means there are distance issues with people more spread out. But I'm no tax expert.

I've always thought it had more to do with paying higher wages due to unions being so ubiquitous.

It's just my thoughts on the subject. But more people require more services, utilities, first responders, roads and road maintenance, schools ... so forth and so on ... all of which takes money...taxes are the gov't way of funding all of that. :notsure:

:rain: Good Morning Porch Pals, Sue & @MQQSE ! It's "intermittent-ing" on us at this very moment. Supposed to do that all day,, so might impact the retirement party. Maybe. Go check my seat belt work in a while, after more coffee.

Man, we always need it. But 0.01" at a time just means no clean vehicle!
