That's pretty much what I have heard about the "ordering" process. You're not really ordering anything, as much as calling dibs on the next one that Toyota decides to send out in your preferred configuration.

I can see it being pretty frustrating if you really want a specific setup. I had to have an ORP 4Runner with KDSS, and fortunately there were a few on the lot at a local dealer. Hopefully I'll get lucky again the next time I decide to buy something. :D

Ya? Gonna be with our kids for the year date after what happened, but gonna need to get away after to try to reset. This looked like a peaceful place that isn’t terribly far. It’s under 4 hours away.

I’ve done it twice now. The key is finding a dealer that will actually put in the effort to getting what you want and not just trying to sell you whatever they have. They can also do dealer trades (either on the lot or in allocation).

both times I’ve got what I wanted. Focus on the base configuration and don’t worry too much about accessories. A lot of them are either installed at port or the dealer, but a couple are installed at the factory so need to be part of the config.

Yeah, it's a nice quiet little town. Should be a good place to clear the head.

    That’s good to hear.
Any suggestions on something to do there that’s low key?

Was going to say that kerosene and ammonium nitrate will get things going too, and then I looked up Tannerite, which a good portion is ammonium nitrate...

I'm not really familiar with the area but if you like to bike ride, the Elroy-Sparta Trail isn't far away. It's an old railway with 3 tunnels. Hiking is also an option.

Google maps shows hiking trails and nature areas on the south side of town and a cranberry operation on the east side of town. Gimi's on the northern part of town has great food, that was the starting point of our Feb ice shenanigans.

BAMF. When I contacted him about the oddball parts that don't match up, he didn't seem interested in sending out the correct parts, just asked if I could cobble together what I have. It will work and nobody will see both sides at the same time but I know...

At this point, I don't have time to wait, I just want to get them done and on.

The nice thing about Tanerrite is that they stock it at Fleet Farm.

Not missing, wrong. Some of the legs are bent in one direction and some in the opposite. I don't have two bent the opposite way as the same ones on the driver's side. They also are shorter in length, shorter approximately the length of the locating tabs. Those tabs are also spaced differently than all of the other legs, so they won't fit any notches anywhere in the kit. Lastly, the front legs, which attach to the separate plate that attaches to the front crossmember are both the same. One should be a mirror of the other.

So, what I have is one slider with all of the legs correct and the other side, only one of the four is correct. Those three will have to be modified and eyeballed into position.
