Finally made it back to New Mexico. The “Land of Enchantment”. Where the beer is hot, the women are cold, men are men and the sheep are nervous. Still a long way from home though.

 

Since I know that area is one of “points”, I felt your concern in my core. Thankfully, we just got “tickets” here. It’s easy to dispose of once it hits the court, as long as you’re not habitual.

 

I seent one of those signs.

It was at a rest area off I-10.
I was returning from a visit to my sister in Phoenix.

Not that it scared me, mind you.
We have Timber Rattlesnakes and Copperheads here... everybody knows it and don't need any signs
No Scorpions though.

 

One thing I’m not used to is local cops using radar. I live in Pa. and Pennsylvania is the only state in the nation that bans local law enforcement from using radar, only the State Police are authorized. Local cops use white lines painted across the lanes and a timing device that requires the cop to push a button when you reach each line and a computer doing the math. You can see the lines from a good distance so it’s pretty easy to know where they might sit. They also need to see both lines and the approach to them so that kind of limits hiding spots for them.

 

Agree… just saw it last night.

 

We have plenty popo using revenue enhancing devices… from rear and forward radar in car as well as cameras (although many cities ban them beyond school zones). There are also mobile units (small vans) that they will move around to areas reported as problematic. To get around the facing your accuser laws, they make them “civil”. Which is fancy speech for Cash Grab.

 

Not a promotion. Just life and the fact that I don't have a Taco anymore.
