Quick overnight float on the south fork of the Snake last night. No fishing this go-round, but I did cook up a camp ribeye to go with my High West Campfire.

MGP I think? But put out by Lux Row, aka the guys who do Rebel and Ezra Brooks and George Remus.

Supposed to be excellent stuff, the Blood Oaths.

I don’t think it’s MGP. The prior release was a blend of Kentucky sourced whiskeys, but the whole point of the “oath” is to never reveal the distillate source, allegedly.

This one was finished in apple brandy casks, and is all rye.

It's about that price around here. I think i paid $64.99 before tax a few months back. I did just see Blantons Gold for $169.99 on Saturday, couldn't justify the purchase.

You'll get that sometimes when the fire gods aren't too kind. I almost gave up and ate it raw, I was hungry!

Pretty bummed with Heaven Hill right now. In early April I got a bad bottle of Elijah Craig rye, had a weird moldy taste and the cork looks a little funky. Reached out to customer service and they got back pretty quick asking for photos and a copy of the receipt which I provided right away, one month later and I haven't heard a word. Followed up with them a week ago to see what's up, still nothing. Yeah it's only a $30 bottle of booze but jeez.

A small pour to finish off this bottle last night. It’ll make my rotation of regulars for sure.

I checked out one of my stores today and realized I haven’t had a bottle of Rare Breed in over a year. I quickly fixed that. Cheers.
