I'm 99% sure the shop broke it, they also installed the windshield slightly too high, so the headliner is pushing against the tiny clips that hold it in place.

After 2 weeks of fiddle-fucking around with the shop. It won't need to be replaced until you break another windshield, and there's a part number so you can just have it replaced. I opted to just super-glue it back up lmao, probably not the best solution, but it's the only that doesn't make me leave it with a sub-par shop, and paying out of pocket to have another shop re-do the work.

Pre-lane departure year but, +1 for Safelite. OEM was crazy expensive so I opted for the Fuyao for around $400 since insurance claim seemed pointless. The techs were friendly, profesh, and took care without rushing. It started as a chip but it was close to the edge so they tried to do the "repair" and welp...it didn't work. First new vehicle I've ever bought and had less than 5k miles on it. Then I had to go get it retinted, which was additional wallet bleeding. Le sigh...

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to contact my insurance company and see if they have an affordable windshield coverage clause.

The windshield being installed too high explains the plastic cover not fitting back on correctly. I tried tape but that didn't hold in the Louisiana humidity. I'll try super-glue. Thanks!
