    In other words, don't smother or obscure the theme.
    Not quite the same as saying less is more, but you get it.

    He could take a simple theme and really develop it.
    Especially when doing call and response improvisation with Felix Pappalardi (on bass).

    One week 7-3, one week 3-11, one week graveyard, and one mixed week of all 3.
    Then repeat.
