What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I'm heading down to the garage to apply color matched vinyl overlays to the three Tacoma chrome emblems on doors and tailgate after starting with the smaller Toyota and SR5 on the tailgate last evening. Reminds me of the trip after I retired from Cordova, Alaska driving south with a 26' U-Haul box truck and my daughters following with the Malibu, as we all noticed the semi on the runaway truck ramp near Summerland. BC with the trailer tires and wheels melted away. The older of my two girls has a Belgian Malinois, the oldest of my three 'granddogs'... She's still a puller on walks, but no longer going on the practice runs. I waved at every U-Haul passing in the other direction, and 100% of those drivers waved back; we're all brothers in that "Adventure in Moving"...

 

Maligator does not pull, but had sent off to boot camp at 7 months old now almost 3.

 

That is a good looking youngster. I had to ask my daughter about the cat door that I placed Gorilla Tape over to keep their dogs out of, and Stella recently broke it completely out of the back door, with some Gorilla Tape stuck on her nose...

 

Got the truck washed up today since it was nice and its not suppose to rain till next weekend. Probably will get some tint for the truck soon trying to decide if I want to go with 35 or 20 in the rear. I dont want it to be to to dark and dont want to get bothered by police.

 

Fishing line and goo gone then clean and wax good to go. And take your time it will come off.

Installed the color-matched vinyl emblem overlays on Barcelona Red (and the mountain decals) from TVD, a TW vendor and supporter. Found the I was looking for... to subdue the chrome. Wiped off the areas with a disposable alcohol wipe, peeled the backing paper away from the transparent film and letter, centered it with old near-sighted eyes, burnished down with a recently replaced plastic card and all three Tacoma, one Toyota, the SR5, and three mountain decals were applied in just a couple careful and patient hours! TVD provides color matching charts and excellent instructions. besides their die cut vinyl decal products.

 

Went into hovercraft mode.


Rotated the tires, re torqued the lca bolts, it got rid of 65% of the clunks, I give up now. No clue what it could be, maybe UCA bolts? Who knows anymore.

 

Missing the feel of gripping wood grain. Upgraded my shift knob to an OEM Lexus mahogany wood grain knob feelin fancy

Did you replace body mount bushings with the energy suspension bushings at the same time as replacing the radiator support?

 

I havent replaced the body mount bushings yet. I plan to just use OEM.

 

I replaced my flywheel and clutch over the weekend. I also did the clutch accumulator delete mod. That was the best thing to do. If anyone has a 6 speed and hasn't done the clutch accumulator delete mod, they need to get on it. Night and day difference in the way it functions now.

mm love me a good braided line install... the 6mt has always driven me crazy... it makes me drive like a newbie. is this a plug-and-play with the part you linked and can it be done with the transmission still in?

What does the delete mod do? Also how many miles did you get on the OG clutch?

just found this thread. among other things it gets rid of the whacky engagement (bouncing, inconsistent, grabby or loose) which often messes with me on incline starts and downshifts.
