It was alright. I wasn’t impressed with the build on this particular one. Climbed well and was comfortable. It was easy to maneuver and throw around. I blew through the travel all day and the Code R brakes on this bike were complete garbage. Absolutely no power. I wasn’t blown away, but I wasn’t disappointed. If I’m being honest, I wish I had just rented a Spire.

Paint is finally dry to mount my RakAttach.
I sprayed fluid film in all the holes, removed the stickers, covered the rusty parts in a rust converter, and made a shim for the hitch.
The shim is 22ga sheet metal and takes all the slop out of the rack. There is no wobble in the rack now.

Just waiting on my grade 8 zinc nut and bolt so I don't have to use the pin lock anymore.
I don't plan on leaving the rack in all the time so I wanted to keep it easy for me to install and remove.

Speaking of spire, I got my first ride on the spire today. Took a while to get the ride wrap in then actual get time to do it. It was an XC ride day but honestly, if this was my only bike, I would be pretty stoked to even ride it at the XC stuff nearby. I think my suspension is setup a tiny bit stiff so that could be a big part of it but it was solid. It doesn’t like to go fast uphill but has plenty of traction, which was what I expected from it. Downhill it is super solid. Definitely overkill for the trail haha. Next weekend I’ll get some riding in at massanutten so that will be much more of a downhill test.

The only issue was that I bottomed out the rear tire a few times running the same pressure I would on my Ripley with exo+ tires. It’s currently setup with schwalbe super trail casing. Anyone have any comparison between those and maxxis?

I really don't want to jinx myself here, but my Reverb, circa 2020, has been flawless.... i think they fixed the issues from their early releases a couple years ago?

My Codes are atill trash tho, sorry @abacall

Mazzagai is great! Or maybe a not-destrpyed rear tire is great. Either way, happy weekend riding everyone!

Hope those intermountain folks are surviving the Canadian wildfire apocalypse.

Even in Metro Atlanta's most popular trail system, there are still singletrack that very few know about.

i have a b1 reverb stealth. ive only done bleeds for it, not full service. it definitely needs it. the last full bleed i did helped, but it feels sticky.

doing the full service just seems daunting. with a lot of potential to make it worse lol

Anyone running the SRAM Transmission yet?

Looking like the new build will get the XO transmission, but I need another ankle surgery in the fall. New build will happen in the winter months. Maybe Shimano will bring something for 2024??

I've ridden a couple of the groups to date, and will have one find its way onto my rig sometime in July after BCBR. They are fantastic - far better than anything from SRAM in the past (including "old" AXS) when it comes to shifting under load and chain slap. I've got a 12 speed XTR kit now on my primary MTB, and there is no question that the Transmission groups have more precision and overall smoother shifts under power, along with a significant reduction in chain slap. Nothing but good things to say thus far!

While not "cheap" by any means, you can find carbon FS bikes with carbon wheels and Transmission groups for just over $7k in this buyer's market.

Flawless ‘20 Reverb, and trash Codes? Hmmm, definitely out of the norm. :confused:o_O

Not a fan of Code Rs, but RSC Codes are excellent brakes. A few better options for sure, but with good pads and a good bed-in they kick butt.

It's called Area 51 (backside of VMT). Where the gold mine is.

I'm just waiting on oval chainrings before pulling the trigger on XO Transmission (minus the crankset).

Similar situation here, I need a 0mm offset 3-bolt DM ring that is compatible with T-Type so I can keep my shiny silver cranks I'm unwilling to give up.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and a chance to get outside. Got my 3 dropbar setup on the raceface down now. Just need to add a mountain bike in the mix, once my partner lets me buy another bike

The pre-2019 Reverbs have nearly tarnished that entire product line. I promise the new Reverbs are excellent (and you don't have to occasionally add air!)

As for the asstrash Reverbs - anytime I've removed one I just trade for a six pack. A lot of dirt bag bros rebuild them as a budget dropper
