Which truck would you buy?

First gen bashed second gen when they came out,second gen bashed third gen and soon who will bash fourth gens. So the question is if you had a brand new specimen of each gen sitting on the lot which would you buy? Nothing to do with price of trucks just which would you want in your driveway? I would go for a first gen hands down. Not a big fan of the trucks as they get newer,too many electronic gizmos for my liking . The new fourth gen looks great but all that safety crap makes me want to puke, but we will never get away from it. And yes, I am a boomer.

If we're talking Tacomas only, then I'll stay with my 3rd Gen.
1st Gen is too small for me, I can't get in or fit very easily. I can barely get in my 3rd Gen, have to fold myself in half, and with my bad back and knee, that is very challenging on my 3rd Gen. 1st Gen would be impossible.
My 2017 was the last year without the Toyota Safety Sense crap.
4th Gen - My 3rd Gen's V6 is significantly underpowered enough. I absolutely will not go with an neven more under powered 4 cylinder. And as far as that tiny little turbo.... I have learned the hard way not to trust small turbos. They are fragile and can come apart far too easily. And do not even ask me about anything hybrid or all electric.

If I had unlimited money, I would get another Dodge Cummins, and modify it significantly. I don't have said funds, so I will happily keep my 3rd Gen Tacoma

2nd gen,but put the vents and shifter with working lights from 3rd gen in

 

Same here, newer ones look big and clunky to me but have had people ride in mine and say they couldn't own it, too small for them. I like that it's easier to maneuver in and out of tight parking spaces and narrow rough roads, but enough of a truck to carry a full load of gravel. Goldilocks had something right when she found just the right bed.
