GM has been using the same motor the Colorado/Canyon just go in the Silverado/Sierra for a few years. Not sure why some of you think a turbo 4 will not work in the Taco.

Not sure if it was mention yet but Ice Cap is the new pearl white metallic for the Tacoma. I saw it on the Tundra 1794 they had on display. Beautiful color. I was told by Toyota Rep, Ice Cap is what we saw on the leaked TRD Pro picture earlier

I thought Ice Cap replaced super white and Windchill pear was it's own color?

Just getting around to watching this video and not sure how I didn't notice this before but does it look like rear window visibility might be kinda shit for passengers? What a strange place for a big chunk of plastic.

Maybe. Sometimes if doors are oddly shaped, windows will have to be smaller to accommodate so they can be rolled all the way down without interfering. I bet that's more of what happened here. Toyota said "Oh you want more room in the back seat? We'll move the seat back, change the shape of the door/door sill but keep the window where it was in the old truck, so sorry about the visibility!"

He's honestly my favorite car youtuber. Everyone else only focuses on the basics of appearance and features. Watching savagegeese break down all the engineering really gives me more appreciation for vehicles.

On another note. Knowing that Toyota is really vested into transforming their image from boring vehicles into inspirational machines, I wonder if they're planning for a limited spec performance Tacoma like a TT V6 to go up against the Raptors and such in the future.

I thought so too, more so on the outside. It seems to be accentuated with the white with black roof on the Pro. It doesn’t seem as obvious or strange looking to me on the ones with the body matched roof. It makes the rear doors look really small when compared the the front doors. The one YouTuber, can’t remember his, name, the one who is a former Toyota engineer postulated prior to the official release that this was going to be the new access can, not the double cab.

Yeah definitely makes the rear doors look smaller from the outside. Strange choice for sure

Jon sitting in the back seat. I guess it'll keep the sun more off of your face? Lol

The power numbers Toyota is publishing for the new 2.4 turbo/hybrid, is it designed to run on regular 87 gas? I'm guessing it is, but haven't seen or read anything to confirm it.

Why would one choose a Pro over a TRD Offroad?

    Thanks.

Suspension mainly I suppose. For me I just personally like the styling/exterior.

Isn't the Pro currently a LOT more pricey than an Off Road? What exactly are you getting for the money?

Dunno, the numbers of the new turbo 4 look impressive, would kick the current V6’s ass up and down the road.

on the other hand, have been driving underpowered Toyotas for 30+ years, and had a air cooled VW Bus for 8, just can’t be in a hurry. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Not much in a hurry these days. But Yeah, lowend torque is great for us guys who like to lug it and go slow.

For the 23 model year? In that case a loaded trd off road comes within pretty close of the price of the trd pro (with no markup). The trd pro has the tech package or whatever it is and the upgraded interior with leather seats etc..
