Oh It’ll be back. Maybe with less shag carpet, but these new electric vehicles love a solid color scheme on the interior.

I mean interiors have gotten a little bland of late. I just wish they'd bring back t-tops.

I would not call that a debacle. It's good work. I supervised the work. So nothing less than good is acceptable.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
The more I look at the 2024 Taco, the more I like what I hear. I saw an interview with the chief engineer doing a walk around of the Sport, Pro, and Trailhunter, and it sounds like they did the homework, listening to owners and looking at what they did to them with aftermarket. It won't be the anytime soon, but a 4th gen is a growing possibility.

I like how it looks. I like the fact the engine should be pretty light weight. I haven’t read about it or watched videos, but my guess is it’s loaded with switches and modes and lasers! The gizmos remove the driver from the equation and that’s what’s sad about modern vehicles. It’s no longer about the driver, it’s about HAL 9000 doing all the work while you sit in that tie fighter seat ( @the.sight.picture taught me what a tie fighter was this weekend) and take pictures. I saw the power numbers and I like those, as long as those numbers hit before 6000 rpm.

I'm not sure we can be friends if you had to be taught what a TIE fighter is.

I would like those numbers to hit between 2500-3500. You know, where a truck would require it. It's a crazy request, I know.

I'm not really sold on this truck yet. Remember when they tried to sell us on how awesome rear-drum brakes are?

They do have more gadgets, but what they've done is watched what people do aftermarket. Mechanically speaking is not something I can do, but moving the rear axle back 3 inches and shortening the nose by 1.5", and making it 3" wider I think gives a better foot print. And independent suspension and disc brakes all around. Sway bar disconnect (automatic). They did retune the engine to address the 3rd gen complaints. Wider and deeper bed. Lots of thought went into this. The engineer said they focused on how we use the trucks, not worrying about payload capacity or towing capacity being best in class. (That's what Tundra's are for was the implication). Each of the trim levels goes head to head with Jeep and Ford, and each does something better than the other trim levels. This is all on paper of course. Until my butt hits a seat on the streets, it's all speculation. But I like what I see.

I'll look for the interview / walk around and post it later.

If it had a bigger front air dam, I would consider it.

Torque peaks very low for all the engine options, but HP is up real high. So it's a diesel.
