I own a 2023 tacoma access cab and love it. I just watched a video of the 2024 access cab and Toyota has eliminated the rear doors and there is no longer a rear seat. Evidently one of their reasons for getting rid of the seat is that 50%+ of the purchasers have been ordering them with rear seat delete. They evidently eliminated the rear doors to save on engineering costs and didn't see the need since there won't be rear passengers. I rarely haul anyone in the back and I have a temporary shelf that works great for payload. But, having the rear seats as an option when I need them is a plus. Also, the swinging rear doors make loading payload into the rear of the cab easy. Without these doors it will be a real pain.

Sales of the access cab were already dismal. But with the changes in 2024 there will be even fewer buyers. I can't see how these changes would attract more interest, they will only serve to lessen interest. So, I say the days of the access cab are numbered. There has been lots talk about the value of the 2023 Tacomas going down once the 2024 comes out. But, I think my 2023 access cab just got a boost in value.

Yup, no longer an Access Cab, back to the old days of just an extended cab. They are dead to me as I use my Access Cab rear seat all the time for my granddaughter.

Likely safety ratings with no B pillar that was the issue. But access cabs are only a small % of overall Tacoma sales, so they know what they are doing.

The new tundra double cab (smaller cab) has a miserable back seat, no idea how it got green lit, but I would put it near par with 3rd gen access cab leg room.

Same could be said for a lack of buyers, surely that’s why they were canceled.

Removed some stuff, added some stuff.
I’m sure 50%+ are fleet vehicles which utilize those doors, I wonder if Toyota took that into consideration

I’m devistated honestly. It’s going to be a major pain to get everything I throw back there in and out…. Meh. Might have to buy a 23 access cab and put it in storage(I wish)

I really like the Supersonic Red color. I am afraid my Golden Retriever (in my signature picture) won’t let me trade in if he can’t have his Access Cab doors and dog platform.

Apparently the "Access Cab" IS in fact dead...I read that the 2024 trim level you're referring to will once again be called XtraCab (not Access Cab), which is a throwback to the 1st gen XtraCab (2 doors only, no backseat except a jumpseat).

In some ways, this is sort of the "new" single-cab, but with behind-seat storage, so that's the silver lining!

People keep saying that but they’re making it up, Access cab got a Good rating for side impact crash, so crash worthiness is not the reason it was deleted.

    There’s 3 options:

    1. Deal with it

    2. Don’t purchase

    3. Cut the cab and make it into a door. :sawzall:

The new 2 door will be the cheapest model available and is most likely the reasoning and what I speculate. Won't a majority of AC guys just get the double cab? And if not, why not?
