Icons squeak sometimes after off-roading. After a wash they are good.

 

I have BDS springs on my FJ40 and they'll squeak when they get dry. I like using the spray can white lithium grease between the leaves. I give them a good shot about once a year and they're quiet. Wipe off any excess on the outside so it won't collect dust.

I am leaning to the Icon RXT but the OME are still a contender. I have had the OME in the past and been happy with them.

Price seems slightly better for the OME but I'll have to save for a few months for either option, so let it begin now...

How well will option 3 handle additional weight when camping and loaded with gear plus the decked?

 

Based upon my stand on the tailgate and jump up and down test I think it will handle a lot more weight.

Can report back with actually gear and real world testing

Never heard anyone have issues with dobinson leaf pack I have the heavy duty ones and love them.

 

Don’t waste time on an add a leaf…. Get a leaf pack. I got the icon rxt and am very happy.

 

Any luck with option 3 with decked? I installed decked and am currently installing RXT’s with 5160’s but I’m stuck between option 2 & 3. I run tools and parts probably ~150-200lbs and occasionally will be loaded with 400+lbs.
Also installing 6112’s at 2.5” & 285/70/17

 

I have similar set-up to what you propose. I'm running the Icon RT (Option 3) with the Icon 2.0 rear shocks. With a daily driver load-out or a camping load-out I have virtually no noticeable drop. For info, here's my weight:


Second the post off-road squeakage. I have shims but, frankly too lazy to install. Nothing a lil stereo volume doesn't fix.

I have an RSI Smart Cap plus table, Tuff Stuff 6' Awning, CRUA AER 4-5 person RTT, Decked and fridge on my truck 24/7. I have had the RXTs at option 3 for 3 years now. Holds the weight very well even when I have my 3 kids in the truck along w/ me. 3's occurs a lot here. RXTs rode better loaded when I had 5100s. When not loaded, it was somewhat bouncy BUT if you have adjustable LSC/HSC - not a problem. Yes RXTs do squeak but it has never bothered me because it does go away for the most part. Overall happy w/ RXTs at option 3 w/ 5100s and now w/ Fox 2.5's.
