meh, doesn't seem worth the trouble. The chrome lining doesn't bother me much at all. Does make it look lifted a tiny bit more I guess lol

 

You're right, that's where the shell comes in for mine. I just leave a box in there with misc stuff haha.

maybe one day if I get rid of the chrome bumpers for aftermarket ones, then I would probably take the chrome trim off the flares. But in stock form I think it looks good, too

 

It belongs to my sister. She and my bro-in-law drove it here from Twisp yesterday (hense the empty battery) and flew to NY this morning. IIRC the back story is this was purchased used from a place in Bellingham last year. I have no idea why it has a Yakima dealer plate surrounds. I think the Cali stickers relate to some sort of charging system that it was used with in a prior life.

Yeah, I do have a 50 amp circuit with a plug that works with a Tesla attachment, but this thing has a 120 VAC plug-in setup. Why it takes 50 hours.

yeah, can't 'order' vehicles through Toyota. Can request a manual and they might be able to find you one but they won't make it for you. Depending on where you live it might be hard to find a manual that a dealer has put on their lot, esp in the trim/color etc you want

 

That's an odd way to go. I've never ordered from them, but never had any issues with other manufacturers as far just order what ya want as long as you're cool with a wait.

 

I think it's always been like that since at least the 2nd gens? I know 3rd gen guys have talked about not being able to order a truck, some dealers will put in the work to find you one that another dealer has allocated and get it to you but otherwise you have to find it yourself and work it out

I don't hate the look honestly, as far as new cars/trucks go. But holy shit that chin strap/air dam is wayyyyy to fucking big, and needs to go

I assume a lot of the limited trim buyers aren't worried about the best approach angles.
I'd still buy a Ranger over one. Maybe it's just me being over pickups.
I'm curious to see what the new 4R is like, along with the Prado if they bring it as it seems expected. The whole market is kinda weird. It's like cameras, everything is starting to plateau and sort of blend into one another.

Vegas will likely beat Dallas so it's probably going to come down to Vegas vs Florida for the cup. I wanted the cup to stay out west but I just can't bring myself to cheer for Vegas, feels dirty

 

I bought OEM LBJ's from McGeorge Toyota back in November and they were made in Japan and coated in that blue-ish 'shipping film' like I've seen referenced in other threads.

 

I don't think that's true though. I think it's just easier for them, at least aesthetically. Other manufacturers, even ones with global platforms, have more varied designs.
But they know what will sell here as well, so I can't get mad at em for having the bottom line clear in their sights.
