Dude, I see a Rav4 in your future lol. Rear facing in a Taco seems like a tough deal. From the pics, the rear seat room seems to be very similar between the 3rd and 4th gens. Probably lump the second gen in there too.

Can’t find much info but Do the shocks on the back rest even do anything ??? Wouldn’t they need to be under the seat like a tractor seat?

Oh, oh, oh, forgot to mention the head rests. Props to Toyota for keeping the taco head rest design. Never thought so much about headrests until recent years when I noticed newer vehicles with these so called "active" head restraints. Damn things push your head so far forward you can't sit comfortably. And by comfortable I don’t mean reclined, I mean sitting upright in a safe driving position with an inch or two between the back of my head and the head rest. Rented a few cars over the years and always hate the headrests. Not only making contact with my head but unnaturally pushing my head forward. Awful. Love the taco headrests and from what I see in pictures they seem to be same design as gen 2 and 3, vertical, not angled forward.

Cool! Kiss what little legroom the DC had back there goodbye though.

Guess the old faithful Baja Suspension seats weren’t good enough, eh? Gawd damn that looks waaaay over complicated, making solutions for problems that don’t exist. Geebas, just long travel the truck’s suspension and be done with it. They have the resources to build those, but can’t make the AC pass a crash test. Good grief those are gimmicky, seems like an expensive band-aide for poor suspension.

Compared a true long travel, it kinda blows. You really can’t push it too hard or you’ll start breaking stuff. Was kinda cute them showing it off besides Ivan’s old race truck though.

    Do this with a Pro…

I have! Couple guys in our dirt bike club have 1450 class trucks, one guy races Baja Trophy Trucks. Once you have been in one of those, a Pro rather pointless. Some people love them though!

Haven't seen this vid until now, and that 1.5 IN of travel is more impressive than I would have thought. I'll bet it does make a significant difference.

So cool that the engineers on these 4th gen Tacomas really got to come up with cool stuff like this and get it approved. This is the most passion I have seen Toyota put into a truck design and it shows. Impatiently waiting to test drive a few different trims, because they are all impressive

Are you saying that a TRD PRO is not for professional offroad racing? I thought that was what the “PRO” meant.

You know that most off the time Pro rear seats are professionally hauling gear and groceries only don’t you?

Where is the trd off road? It’s the most popular model and they’re not revealing it for some reason.
