These are the first 5 shots at 100 yds. 1 and 2 were touching. I adjusted the scope for elevation and it just fell apart.

This was everything after using various factory and handloads.

ok so its a purchased upper. did you do that quick check i mentioned earlier?

if it fed those rounds & ejected them fine? then it would be unlikely that the barrel nut is loose.

as already mentioned == if its a PSA & has a problem.... send it back to them for an exchange.

the lower has no effect on the upper as long as you got your FCG holes drilled in the right place & the pocket on center.

THIS. It’s PSA’s problem. Not yours.

Anyone had issues with a batch of Aero uppers short stroking?

Got a brand new 20" A4 assembled upper (with Aero BCG and Aero A4 lower) that seems to short stroke. Ejects brass but won't feed the next round. Was thinking the gas system might have an issue based on a couple reviews on the Aero site from the same time period I bought my upper. Zero reply from Aero on a service ticket put in.

    Tried:
-Lowers: Aero factory complete A4, Colt A4
    -Ammo: GGG M193, LC M193, PMC 55gr 223
-Mags: Pmag Gen 2, Pmag Gen 3, Okay Ind. 20rd, Colt 20rd
    -Lube: Well lubed

Sucks because it groups really well(via hand cycling).

First I've seen on the m4. Hope they treat you better than they did me when my m5 complete upper barrel failed headspace with an aero bcg.

Luckily my M5 never had an issue.

I'm guessing Aero doesn't test fire complete uppers.

What buffer assembly? I had the same issues with 308 with a A2 buffer assembly so contacted Ballistic Advantage who made the barrel. They said testing was done with a Carbine buffer so I switched to that now it runs flawlessly.

That’s the issue with ar’s, if you really want a high precision ar get Seekins parts. Or even the aero upper. Both there systems will help when you have a load on the gun off a bag or bipod etc. That’s a Seekins build with a custom barrel, it shoots amazing with good hand loads. 27E3DF89-13C6-423F-B549-8130E199AD91.jpg 34220567-297F-4253-A254-BA3FB3DC942B.jpg

The factory Aero A4 lower has the A2 buffer. Will have to swap in a carbine buffer and try it.

Odd that they would want a carbine buffer in a rifle lower.

I thought so as well. With an 18” barrel I figured it would all play nicely but apparently not idk if an issue with dwell time or what but runs great now

I got paper plate size groups at 25 yds with the 22lr conversion kit and a 223 barrel. The fast twist of 223 barrels just don't seem to work with 22lr. I ended up buying a real 1:16 22lr AR barrel for that gun and took off the chamber adapter doodad. It shoots fantastic.

I removed an 8.1" 1:7 5.56 barrel from my SBR (replaced with 10.3 on silencer manufacturer's recommendation) and built a cheap upper to run the .22 conversion kit. I mostly use it for plinking so I haven't tried to get serious with accuracy but it's been as reliable as you can expect a .22 to be with several types of ammo.

I'm looking at what y'alls choices are and builds kinda thinking might be just as cheap to buy a complete gun and sight it in call it a day.
Thank you for all the imput from my question.

I've built all mine, but that's because like like to do so. There are tons of already made rifles out there though depends on your budget.
