    @Ozark_RegCab @Yota X

    Looks like good weather this weekend. Maybe I can make some real progress on moving stuff from the LX to the LC. The front diff would be a relatively easy job.

    I've only ridden as a passenger in this chevy bolt so I can't really say how fun it would be long tern but in general, all EVs have a rep of being quick, you know, for that spurt to get at the head of the line. I did get to drive a brand new Mini EV the other day. It belongs to my brother's GF. It was a short drive around Bellevue. Very quick and handled pretty good. I suspect it handles a lot like yours did. And as you know, I've had the pleasure of driving a model S for almost a year. It never got boring.

    @Ozark_RegCab @Yota X -- I feel lucky that I have the skills and tools to pick and choose which "recommended" approach to use. I do like to experiment a bit to find a better way. I do think some of the tutorials are a bit over the top and miss presenting an easy to make something happen approach.

    You got me curious how much the model S is going for.. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/ctd/d/cave-creek-2014-tesla-model-p-hp/7624650254.html
    not bad... could scoop one up and use it for the less efficient drives around

    course I'll have to throw 12 grand at it in 50-100k miles for a new battery...

    Not bad for the mileage. Looks pretty clean too. Yeah, you could have a lot of fun with that one.

    The one I had was a 2013 P85.

    I'm just gonna drop this vid here. It's a fun watch.

    The mini EV are pretty cool, I bet it was a great handling car even though I would assume heavier than ours. I know you really enjoys the Tesla, I just struggle A with Elon and B, lack of personality. I think the lack of sound would be where I would be bored. For example, no big loud downshifts with burbles and pops, when the neighborhood kids oogle at your car, you can't pop in neutral and give them an ear full. Even just the rumble you get driving down a street or through a parking garage add to the excitement and experience. An EV can deliver on none of those, only the acceleration part. As a commuter appliance though I do love the prospect of the EV, but still their price point is a barrier for entry for me. Hopefully you get some seat time driving the bolt around and can later comment how it compares to the Tesla experience.

    I had one stuffed up on a shelf somewhere. It was just a plastic piece that held the CD still while you rubbed some polishing compound on the surface then used a microfiber cloth to buff it off. I do have some CDs that I need to rip again. I ran short on disk space and couldn't keep my backup.

    I think the Mini would be my choice if I were to go EV right now/soon. The incoming refreshed one is supposed to have 240+ mile range. Too bad the little Honda E isn't sold here, I think it'd do well. Not a Tesla fan and not really interested in a SUV/truck EV.

    *If I had Taycan money...easy decision.

    Agreed on all your points. But you left out two other points of contention. First off there is range anxiety. It is a real thing. Even if you have an advertised range of 400 mi there's that thing in your head about making it home or the nearest charger.

    Regarding driveabiity, the no shift thingy always got me, I missed it. But then I guess a cvt would be no different. On the plus side of driveablity was regen braking. It was excellent in the Tesla and also the Mini. In traffic, regen braking is a game changer. Same on twisty, 2-lane mountain roads.

    I think the economy EVs are the bolt and the leaf. You could probably get into one of them for a reasonable up front cost these days.
