The install video on extreme terrain never shows that step and he gets the covers on somehow.

Yea...I watched it and it doesn't look like his truck had the loop.

The video also didn't show him pushing the headrest hole openings down around the headrest plastic molding. I assume you are supposed to do that?

I just undid the seatbelt bolt and fed it through the loop. Took a 14mm socket and about 2 minutes extra during the install. Torque spec is 31 ft-lb.

Hardest part of the install was tucking extra fabric into the side of the power driver seat. As far as I can tell it all went perfectly. I just wish there was a way to remove the white RC logo on the front seats.

How was the fit around the Driver's Passenger seat? I hear the seat covers are fine if you don't mind the power controls on the drivers side to be covered?? What is your thoughts?

My seat power controls are not covered. I will snap a pic tomorrow. It is raining and thundering outside right now.

Have had them on about 2 years now; do the job of protecting the seats but front ones cant seem to stay put after a while. Wish there was a better way for them to be secured. If theres any insight on this I would greatly appreciate it

Hello. While I wait for my SR5 to come in.

these look expressive for the money.

for those who’ve had them for awhile. how are holding up as far as fitment and were.

Has anyone had a liquid spill yet or wet clothes. Did it soak through ?
    Thank you.
    Xbow.

Waited for them for like 3 months when I first ordered them. Have had them on the truck about 2 ish years. They do the job; cant complain. My only issue is it sort of doesnt stay put like it feels less snug compared to when I had them put on first. The part where it your seat folds (between the back part and seat) is where it comes out and I feel like no matter what I do it just slips out and then youll have to fix it again. So the neoprene...I mean it doesnt exactly soak THROUGH but it soaks it up? Lol i mean it isnt waterproof. They're comfortable in the sense that they dont run hot when youre sitting in them for a long drive. No weird smells also lol

In the long run I'd really want to change to Katzkins to also just customize my interior more

I installed a set a couple of weeks ago on my new 23 SR 4x4 and found that you really need to take the front seats out of the truck to really get them tightened up properly.

14mm socket to unbolt the seat. Disconnect the battery and undo the wiring harnesses for the airbag - no big deal. Be careful to not scratch the paint on the door sills or plastic on the door panels.

One small Phillips head screw holds the outboard plastic trim on ( power seats may be different). Route the two side bungee straps under the seat so as to not get caught in the seat mechanism. Same thing for the straps on the front & back. To me there really is no other way to effectively do this other than to completely remove the seats. Fitment is so much better than trying to fit in place. Unbolting & just laying them back to access the bottom may work if your patient & nimble, but hell, if ya go that far just take them out and do it right.

I did not take mine out. Unbolted and leaned forward on the dash to get to the bottom.

No complaints here...still fit nicely after 2+ years...haven't spilled anything to know if it leaked through...just do a cleaning of both the covers and the original seats in the fall.

Yes, definitely unbolt and remove the front seats to get them strapped in properly. The drivers seat cover still has a tendency to shift. Aside from that the biggest complaint is that dog hair seems to stick to them worse than the oem fabric.

Guys, for the side straps/hooks, are they supposed to be connected together under the seat, or are they supposed to be connected to the seat structure itself on each side?

The front to back straps? That's a great idea! Do they get hung up on the sliding mechanism at all?

I only put them on the rear seats because they are typically used for stuff rather than people. Can't speak for the front seats. It did help keep the covers pulled tight with the sides adding tension to the vertical straps.

I went with the Rough Country neoprenes. They are thick, tight and fit perfectly. I ended up unbolting the front seat frames from the floorpan (14mm socket) to fasten the straps properly and not just blindly attach them to anything like wiring harnesses or something the clips might slip off of. This will also prevent you from attaching straps that may interfere with the seat track. This method will take longer but the result is worth it.

I took them out of the plastic shipping bags to sit out for a few weeks before install. That way there was no odor from the off gassing. No weird stench inside and the Taco still has that new car smell.

And, yes, the rear belt needs to be removed for install of the rear covers. I avoided attaching the drawstraps to each other in the front and back to prevent undue stress on them.

I've had them a couple months and could not be happier.
