LS6 Swap 2nd Gen Build + New Tundra

yeah it doesn’t look like a factory connector, styles a little different and colors are off.

 

Took apart the old expansion valve, guess it’s a good thing I replaced it with the evaporator. Lol.

 

One issue I just thought of is the clutch start cancel switch. I threw away my clutch pedal and its obviously been removed from the truck. Without the truck thinking I'm pressing the clutch, it's not going to activate the starter relay. I guess I could just jump the two wires on the clutch pedal switch, and forget about it. Anyone see a problem with doing this?

Maybe an opportunity for a theft deterrent...use it to wire in a kill switch

Does it have a trans harness? I just pinned from ecu park/stop or clutch to trans harness. idk if that applies though.

 

Yeah it does.

 

Mine had a wire off holley ecu/trans plug labeled park/clutch or park lock. I found that same pin in body harness right before old toyota ecu and cut and wired to the holley wire. Hope that helps.

So tonight I installed the key fob module, and tried to install the A/T parking brake. The at parking brake is no where near bolt in like i imagined it would. So I did some thinking, tired to refit the M/T parking brake in and really I found out that I was cappin big time about it not fitting.

Cut about 3/8 of an inch off the bottom hole and voila it fits!



pretty close quarters up there, but everything clears with good margins for safety.

I’m happy with how things are coming along so far. I think tomorrow if I have time after work I’ll get the DBW harness installed and everything ziptied out of the way of the parking brake.

 

wish I had pictures of my pedal mounted. I built a new pad and threw the plastic one away and then mounted it a bit lower, but I need to move it again cause it’s position isin’t ideal for long desert drives.

 

Mystery SRS system wire. Any ideas? Other than that, dash reassembly is going swimmingly

 

Well we tried tacking motor mounts in with tig and there just wasn’t enough room for the torch and wire. We’re gonna buy a mig machine and go at it on Thursday. Also, so much for mounting the Holley there. Not a good idea to mount it directly next to the alternator lol.

 

That is the passenger airbag on / off switch wire that would have been in that blank panel to the right of the radio right above your hand in the photo. Some early 2nd gens had a key switch in that panel to turn it on and off.

my truck isn’t equipped with the switch. I wonder if there’s a dead plug or something it’s supposed to go into.

I had another thread started that @Dm93 and @karibemakira figured it out for me.

 

The dead plug is on the back of that panel I mentioned

 

I located them up high for two reasons. One, I have the room to, and two, it makes it way easier to tack in the motor mounts. Makes my
Wiring job much easier too.
