Maybe I confused my terms, but isn't it 100% front and rear in reality since if one slips up front no extra power is sent to the rear or lost from the rear in response since there's no center differential.

My understanding is you basically get 25% to each corner, ignoring losses in the system. Think about in an open diff truck, when you get crossed up, 50% of your total power goes to the front tire slipping and 50% goes to the rear tire slipping, but the split is still 50 front and 50 rear. Never have I seen a situation where in 4x4 the fronts don't spin and the rear gets it all unless something broke.

Even if the percentages are wrong, energy is sent to the front and rear and effectively you're sending less power to the rear compared to 2wd only.

Fair enough, I forget the distinctions between energy, power, and "work". We understand the important part haha, less shit broken in 4wd.

Yeah I like to think of it in terms of energy, easier to understand but usually use the term power, as in the amount of power (energy) from the engine. That energy has to go somewhere. And maybe, I'm not sure, more moving parts means more chances of things to fail. But certainly hope it holds true. Unfortunately my cam won't ship until July so I'm balls deep trying to figure out how to get the clutch tranny married lol.

Stock bottom end, 2.19/2.29 cam, push rods, valve springs and lifters. I will have the machine shop freshen up the heads and valves. Pistons cleaned up, cylinder walls look good (some cross hatching is visible), turns over smooth so I didn't feel like i need to mess with it. The mating surfaces all cleaned up well.

Yeah it's probably fine down there, I will say if you can get you hands on some stock Gen IV LS rods they're worth swapping in as they're much stronger than the Gen III stock rods. Cheap upgrade while you're torn down. But if you're not boosting it's gonna be fine anyway.

Maybe down the road I would look at that or other options. Current plan should survive fine even with a 100shot shoved down it's throat.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Depends on the suspension, lift, and steering component condition. The first 100 that I drove had worn-out tie rod ends and OME shocks. It wandered all over the road and road like hell. I thought, how in the hell would anybody drive one of these? Then I bought one that wandered all over the road and replaced the steering rack, tie rod ends, and suspension. Then it was fun to drive. This latest LC has been a sweetheart to drive from day one. So much so that I don't want to mess it up. They all seem to have different personalities. The best thing to do is drive a few to get a feel for how they really handle.

Got to drive my truck to work today, that was fun. 0 issue keeping up on the highway at 80+mph with hardly any throttle input. Plus lots of wooshy noises

My Tacoma is kind of wandery on the highway. The tie rods and ball joints are good, but I suspect the steering rack is a little worn. Ot maybe it’s just the lift with the stock UCAs that’s causing the loose and sloppy steering.
