Because I don’t know shit, do your cages tie into the factory crash bar behind the dash? Or are they tying in somewhere else?


I’m not planning on fabricating the cage, I’ll pay some qualified to do that, just trying to learn.

 

Nope you could probably kick that and bend it, the A pillar tubes of your cage will go down through the floor and tie into the frame then your new dash bar will tie into those.

NM but in my photo archives as "1 way to do it".

 

I did mine in a way that still utilizes the factory dash bar and didn’t lose a single vent or HVAC function. But it was very labor intensive to do so.

Baja Kits +2 LT kits what's the thought on them? 08 tacoma 2wd. They have a 650$ off, wondering if it's worth jumping from mid to LT. I will be piecing parts from here if this is a decent kit.

Just go 3.5 or bigger. The +2 kit is fine and you'll be happy with it. But in a couple years you'll be selling it for a bigger kit.

this is true… unless you plan to never go to the desert/dunes and only play on tight trails, do yourself a favor and buy once cry once…lol

 

if you really only want +2 the JD Fab kit imo is the best on the market. There have been a lot of probs with those BK kits.

 

That's what I figured, nothing good is cheap.

 

Fuck I feel like I'm losing steam. Im off at 8 most days and I'm not getting a whole lot of time to dedicate to get this thing done. There aren't a ton of things left on the list to get this thing running, but then I have to start on all the BS to get it driving. Thats a whole different story.
