I hadn’t thought of that much tbh. He also asks me questions about the Cruiser (did you notice the sunroof leaking? Etc) so it’s not just a one way street. Also we don’t just talk about issues; we also update each other on mods and trails and stuff like that. And it’s not anything passive aggressive, sometimes we just want more clarity on what’s been done. In fact he dented the cats on a trail at the Jamboree and ended up cutting them off.

That looks really good. It must cut down on the weight too. The 80 series body is insanely heavy, especially with the leather interior and power seats.

It’s not what I would’ve done but the cats are in a really exposed spot on the 95-97 Cruisers. FWIW the Australian FZJ80s never got cats.

Aluminum tray versus the rest of the entire body and guts certainly weighs less.
(Leather vs cloth interior isn't as different weight wise as you'd think though. Auto upholstery leather isn't super heavyweight. Removing the seats entirely you'd notice some weight loss. But I ran my 100 with nothing but front seats for a while and really didn't notice much, they're heavy pigs no matter what.)

My problem is I get off work and ah yes, a beer. Then an hour later I'm thirsty again. The cycle repeats and next thing you know you put away 4 beers. It's not a healthy habit for sure. Part of why I took on the LS project, being distracted with projects goes a long way in itself. I want to get to a place where I have just a couple a week, cuz I do really like drinking lol
    Oh ya, coca cola...

Been drinking the cherry coke zeros. Probably not great for me either but it is a good alternative for me.

Not just energy but mood too. More even keel for me.

That's cool, better than what I dealt with.

The guy and I spoke briefly in the same manner, but there were times where we'd go weeks without saying anything then all of a sudden a picture followed by a question like

    "Did you know about this?"

[Insert pic of rear lower control arm bolt backing out/loose]

Meanwhile here I was dealing with a rear driver window that fell off the track as soon as I plugged in the window switch (found disconnected) after I attempted to roll it down.

Or the fact that the battery tray was FUBAR.

Or the steering damper bracket was mangled and partially cut because he or some other owner had failed to remove the damper with it's tapered bolt pressed in.

Or the small strip of electrical tape holding on for dear life keeping the knock sensor plug together.

I could go on, but I never texted him or mentioned any of it because I went in knowing full well "this is an old vehicle".

Guess he couldn't grasp that concept himself.

I started watching this youtube mini documentary this morning all super hyping the hell out of the 1800s and how all they drank was alcohol. Finally showed the stats and they peaked at an average of 7.4gallons a year per person. I was like... :anonymous:

I've been trying the, "special occasion," route. But won't beat myself up if its been a long week and I have em on Friday. I don't like beer so the ritual is a bit different and its easy down but easy to get in trouble after say a couple Old Fashioneds for example, or Manhattans, etc. Then you're making promises to yourself the next day lol.

Agreed. Seems to be a theme with some of these folks. They build a great vehicle and shit the bed with wheel choices.

@CS_AR do you think there’ll be spots at the Richland Creek campground on Saturday?

I wasn’t sure how crowded it gets out in the NF on holiday weekends.
