I have many years ago. Mostly I would wade out to the second sandbar and cast into the dip between me and third sandbar. Caught drum, speckled trout, and even a stingray once.

Unfortunately the math doesn't work out in my favor for keeping both. It's one or the other and I chose the Tesla. For me it's not really Tesla vs Toyota, but Electric vs ICE. Electric wins in my book.

Also, nice guess there. It's the Y Performance :)

usually but more often a bow saw, also always have a machete and ax

This spot is about 40 minutes from home and I wasn't too concerned about turning back if need be.

The tire wasn’t aired down. Perhaps it’s the Portrait mode I used for this picture.

Man, I’m behind the times. Me older bro just picked this up. He let me drive it yesterday. Definitely different. I was like, “Wow, you can’t even feel the gears changing.” He just stared at me, ahahaaa. I wanted to check out the drive shafts, but forget that.

I wouldn’t change over, or pick between the two. It’s going to be hard not being able to go wheeling to your fave spots. Good luck and be happy, these powertrains are pretty damn fast.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
End of the road today, could not make it to my lake of choice.

I walked this with my waders on and measuring stick, or tried to…

Suction mud at the bottom, and the ruts over 4 foot deep. If you went on an ATV you’d be up to your chest.

The trail after this would have been much worse as I have been here several times in recent years.

Not a good spot to get mired in the muck, and zero chance of a rescue. No other tracks on the route. Six weeks ago this area was still under 5 foot of snow, and it melted fast with the recent heatwave.

Have to wait another 4 weeks before trying here. I fished a little bit at a nearby smaller lake, no catch though.

Still a nice day to get out. New air bags are phenomenal. With 1,000 pounds in the truck, it drives better than it did when empty before adding the air bags. Handles as though there is no weight in the back. I had them at 32psi today, and with the 1,000 pounds it still rode 1 inch above stock height and far more stable.

    A great purchase.

Good call. The hard part is not knowing how deep the tracks are, if any. Getting high centered with no help would be tough(barring a winch).

Back from mid week camping at Chehalis River campground. I left the trailer there and drove up to the off grid BC Forestry camp at Chehalis Lake. For the most part the local 4x4 clubs maintain the campground including trenching deep ruts across the acess road to keep out non 4x4 vehicles 20230524_113755.jpg 20230524_120002.jpg 20230524_115037.jpg

I don’t think a winch would help in that spot as all the trees are on the sidebank, and you would be under 4 foot of water. It was close to 5 foot at deepest point, and I could barely pull my feet out of the mud. I always walk these types of spots first, so the chest waders come in handy. Once you are up to your waist and can’t move your feet, time to pick a different spot.

I would have been good pickings for a hungry bear if one wandered by. There are some grizzlies up there (not many), but no shortage of black bears and cougars. A big bowl of human sushi stew. :)

No point taking chances. Too old for that now. Soon it will be possible to get through. That area is bad even when dry, and I know many fishermen with 4x4s who won’t go even when it is dry. It is not too bad if you are used to that type of driving.

BC has great variety. I would love to drive some of that dry desert country in the southern states.

Don’t tell my wife though as far as BC is concerned, she won’t go anymore because of all the mosquitoes, black flies, and horseflies and a bear circling our tent one night. A comfy bed and busy civilized camp spots only for her. I just can’t go to spots that are easily accessed. Too many people. Hey, we all need time apart from our other halves, right?
