Hey I have a 23 Tacoma sr, 5800 miles, front tires where wearing outside of tires, I call it scuffing them bad, making the edges like a sharp feel, I had it aligned at the dealership, and tire rotation, now the tires are still wearing exactly the same. Psi is set per the door jam, 32 psi cold and I have stock tires and no lift, truck is all stock, I’ll add a picture of the alignment sheet, truck feels like it pulls to the right some. I need this thing aligned so itdoesn’t wear my tires out too fast! Is there better alignment specs for better driving and better tire wear? Thanks for any replies

need more caster on the RF...but if tires have a wear pattern on them ...they will be that way till replaced.

What you described is toe wear and by the new numbers they are dialed in. Not sure why you are still seeing the same wear pattern, perhaps it was previously there?

The tires have about 5800 miles, bought the truck new, I noticed the wear at about 3500 to 4000 miles, and it was aligned then. I’ve seen some specs on other posts from here during my search, are they good specs for a stock truck with no lift?

Oh and at time of alignment, tires where rotated from the rear to the front, the rear tires had never been on the front.

You didn’t really have the an alignment conducive to outside wear.
What I think you're trying to describe is, heel-toe wear, on the outside... You can even it out with a rear-cross rotation.

Here is a picture of the tires, it’s hard to tell on camera but very easy to see it and feel it in person!

In my experience aligning these trucks in regards to total toe, 0.04" is tops before you'll get noticeable edge wear but I also found 0.06" to drive the nicest so somewhere in that range is where I would shoot for. Pull wise your camber and caster and set to create a right side pull currently. I don't know whats the roads are like where you live but with road crown and my personal alignment style I usually match camber and have 0.5* more caster on the RIGHT side to compensate for road crown. The side with the least caster is the side the vehicle will pull towards. For best driving experience it depends what you do. For city driving 2-2.5* caster along with maybe a little negative camber might drive the best with 0.02" total toe positive whereas I haul/tow and mostly do highway so my personal favourite setting i've ran so far is 0.4*+ camber on both sides 2.75* caster on the left and 3.25* caster on the right along with 0.04" total toe positive

I don’t do any towing, a bag of trash is about all I haul, mostly city driving, and I live in NC

The specs I posted are from one of your posts, would that be good specs for this truck, stock with no lift? All I want is the best compromise between best driving and best wear, probably can’t have both I’m sure.

I'm in alberta Canada so i'm not too familiar with North Carolina landscape, unless you have a specific complaint about the handling aside from the pull I would just ask them to match camber on both sides make the right side have 0.5* more caster and set total toe between 0.02"-0.06".
The rear being a solid axle has no adjustment, the rear left being toed in is from the alignment guy rolling the truck from the tire as he should be. Most i'd say for the back is to retorque your ubolts

That's the thing... I don't think it's your alignment. I bet you're what they would call a spirited driver in the corners? The wear you are describing, imo, comes more from spirited driving and improper rotation pattern, than your alignment.

If you are in fact a spirited driver that tossed the truck around corners I would get maybe -0.2* camber on both sides

Maybe bump up tire pressure a couple psi and see if that stiffens the tire up a little in the turns. Looks to me you are rolling on the shoulder of the tire.

Thanks for all the info, I have a appointment for alignment on Tuesday, I guess I possibly could have knocked the alignment out or something, our roads here are terrible, they will beat the front end out of a truck lol. Thanks again

I have the same issue with my 2022 SR5 2wd. When I walk my dog, we go by a used car dealer and every Tacoma on the lot has same wear pattern on the front tires. I call it feathering. Yes, I did run my hand front to back and visa versa on all the used Tacomas on the lot to see if this is a common occurance. It appears to be. My truck drives too good that I am afraid to get an alignment and have someone jack up the drivability trying to fix this. I will continue to rotate every 5000 miles until the OEM tires wear out and then get a new set of tires with an alignment.
