Diesel efficiency, the same diesel efficiency Americans want and can't have. I'd imagine an EV Hilux in Austrail would be about worthless compared to a disesel. Where do you charge an electric Hilux in London city?

 

Has green efficiency proven itself anywhere out side of the US?

I don't think it has, there should atleast be a successful example for America to aspire to.

 

According to google, there’s over 13,400 EV charging locations in greater London with 20% being free to use.

I’m trying to find the bed dimensions for the Gen 4’s, specifically the Trailhunter. Just the basics: Depth from bed rail to floor, side to side, and specific length (72” I’m assuming).

Does anyone have these?

Absolutely, I’d love 28mpg and 370lbft of torque from my Taco without any hybrid technology.

Diesel costs less to refine than gas and produces more power with a greater efficiency.

Europe and uk governments taxed the hell out of fuel and this made the public demand fuel efficient vehicles which the car manufacturers then provided. This then leads to these countries producing less pollution and becoming a greener population.

Then we’ll be under the utility company’s thumb, go from bitching about gas prices to bitching about the electric bill. Which is already pretty high for some. Ours was fairly high when we lived in AZ, fraction of that now in Idaho. Will be interesting when all the masses convert over.

 

Being that the truck is basically the same size as a 3rd Gen you would expect the fuel tank to be roughly the same. The only caveat is they moved the axle slightly rearward, so guess it's possible that the tank could have grown slightly.

 

In HI it was 45c kw at one point, currently in AZ and paying 5c kw off peak, 12c kw peak (4-7pm) I’d say it’s cheap here. When we buy here and I get solar I’ll def be getting g something electric, would be dumb not to.

 

11¢ here in Idaho, cheaper than AZ, yet we ran the AC half the year there. Here might have it on for 6 weeks if that.

70% of our power is from renewables, by 2045 they want it at 100%, really no need for private home owners to go solar here. Do wonder what the rates will do once most everything goes EV.

Finland recently fired up a nuclear plant, rates went down 75%. Have to recharge all those EVs somehow.

It is! Mostly from hydro, which isn’t perfect because it decimates the salmon populations, and changes local ecosystems, however much better than coal.

They really need to push more solar in AZ, every roof should have them. Was down there in February after being gone for 8 years, a lot more solar arrays around that was nice to see, need more though.

 

All new builds in HI are required to have solar hot water heater panels.
I heated our spa and pool in HI with simple black water panels with a slow flow pump, cost pretty much nothing.

We’re house hunting in AZ and I’m amazed at how little solar electricity there is and that no one uses the sun to heat pools/hot water tanks/spas during the winter, it’s all gas.

8% here in NJ. Politicians are stopping renewable projects here so the fight continues. Where I live I'm on nuclear and solar supplement. We average $.18 Kwh NJ is a high density populated state.

 

It is strange in AZ, so much potential. We used to own a swimming pool business in PA, my grandfathers pool was heated by hydrosolar and that was 35-40 years ago.
