Can't say I've seen 98-00 headlight retrofits like that before. What's the story on those?

    did my CV axles,

I purchased the wrong ones from rock auto and only realized after I pulled the old ones out so to Orielies and advanced for 1 each. since both stores only carried one each.
    Orielies & Advanced auto.jpg

Noticed some wear on the inside of this hub but sent it anyway
    IMG_2805.jpg

both sides slid out and in easy enough. I will do again. Mainly because both stores offer life time warrenty on those axles o_O:bananadance:

next was my stiff as all get out struts. I went the cheap way and got some used ones off FB marketplace.
    IMG_2672.jpg

I kept the Fox racing, in hopes to rebuild and reinstall but.... they rode so ruff, I probably will not.

to get my lift back up front I got cheap spacers from Amazon. and could not get the LCA to drop enough to get my bolt in, I thought I could squeeze it together and shorten it.

    IMG_2855.jpg

It worked, only could manage to get one compressor on due to all the hardware down there but it still worked, yay

Double check they don't bind at full droop. Might not be a big deal for you if you only drive on pavement but it doesn't take much to snap one if it's bound up.

Been chasing some front engine noises the last few months on my 95 5VZFE. It was a high pitched noise that was worst on cold starts. Almost sounded like a belt slipping, but not quite the same. Replaced the fan bracket and that went away.

Then I could hear another dry bearing type noise.

Stethoscope said the idler pulley on the AC was really dry. Had a bit of a wobble so, so I ordered this one ($24) and kept driving it.

    20230524_191843[1].jpg

AFTER I got the new pulley/bearing, I removed the old one. DOH!, it has a replaceable bearing.

    Public Service Announcement over.

Damn those fabtech/fox coil overs are old! My truck had a set on it when I bought to cab swap, built it instead, and it rode like shit!!! They were slightly different lengths with a cracked rubber spacer on the top. Didn’t even try to sell ‘em. Think buddy gave em away to a guy and told him “you can have em but use at your own risk and you didn’t get them here” lol. My truck rides way better now lol

Got my ebay metal door handles earlier than expected.
Feel solid. Good weight. As others noted they have a plastic housing and metal handle.
Some dissimilarities between the left and right (aside from the obvious one is right one is left)
One came nicked. But I dont really care. I'm sure someone else would be annoyed but I can always just paint over it.
One had something removed from the back also. Rotory tool marks. Thought that was odd.
Will have to get some side by side shots when I get the oem ones out.

Isn't that plastic what everyone is trying to get away from? Had a handle break on me on my old Tacoma and it was the plastic that gave out right behind the handle.

None, why mess with a good thing
I started by tracking down a misc wire, then decided to remove the multi-cd unit that has not worked properly in years, so when someone says "What have you done with your Tacoma today....." all I can say is....

I just installed the passenger side one yesterday, same brand, it might be my
OCD but the new handle sits a little crooked when installed. It dips towards the front of the taco. I might try bending the mounting tabs inside the door to straighten it out. Thinking about spraying them with bedliner too.
Also I sprayed all the linkages with dry lube. Works like melted butter now.

Not sure what it is, but that front bumper is awesome. Super simple. Like it.

The entire handle is metal. Including the part right behind the pull tab. Its the bucket that sits in the door that is plastic.

well, better to figure that out on a drive to work rather than on the trail or in the desert where you'll really want it
