Are they adjustable? Seams they would limit how much you dig into the ground.

if its a 5000 series? pass on it.

    is it a 6100 or a 6200?
the 6000 series is a solid machine, but a good bit underpowered. (15hp) 12@PTO

7100 & 7200 are usually the easiest to find & can be had in the 2800-3500 range. (17hp) 14@PTO

they key is what are you gonna do with it? if your just mowing grass? or you have a 4' bush hog? it will be fine.

Those are good old tractors. I have a similar vintage L345DT has it has been an absolute workhorse. I can't tell the model of this one here but it appears to be from the same L series but possibly bigger than mine. Also it's a 4x4 (DT - dual traction) which is a plus. If everything works on it and it runs good I say go for it. Old Kubota's are the best!

    It’s the l245DT. It’s a 25hp diesel 4x4.
Just running a 5’ brush hog that’s it. My 54” riding mower has been a real chore lol

oh yeah man thats a real tractor vs a mini! L245 is a fine old machine & with that few hours on it? should last forever once you get the cobwebs out of it.

run it just a little bit, change all the fluids & filters & she should be good to go! 5' hog on that tractor is no problem at all.

I screened mine with a simple build out of Timbers and a piece of chain link fenceupload_2023-5-25_20-43-50.jpgupload_2023-5-25_20-43-25.jpg

I had plans to build a screener, problem is that my "soil" is clay. Spring and fall the yard looks decent. Summer with no rain it's so dry that huge cracks open up.

I mow around 3 acres or so, it'd be a lot to top dress. The thought of that has crossed my mind, though, perhaps in sections starting closer to the house and working my way out.

I cleared a half acre of woods and kept the top 12” of soil. It had been neglected by the previous owners and lots of dead wood and organics in it. Stockpiled it then screened it for a top dressing. A person could also have topsoil delivered but that’s expensive

    Hi all,

I have a question only remotely related to tractors, mowers and water heaters, but I figured this might still be the best place to ask.

I just changed out a carburator in an old 185 cc Suzuki ATV, for a new aftermarket one. As I stated pulling the starter pull cord, I noticed gas leaking under the carb. It was getting dark, so I couldn't determine the exact location.

On a new carb (straight out of the box), is there anything that needs to be adjusted/tightened/closed before first use? Did I miss something?

If the float or the needle valve connected to it aren't adjusted properly and shutting off the fuel, the float bowl often has an overflow tube that fuel can leak from. This is preferable to flooding your motor with fuel.
