Had to hit tee shot with while wearing a firman’s coat once and putted with a fireman’s axe. Didn’t score good on that hole!

Ok I played my first legit round today and I shot a 100. I played all of my balls where they landed except one that was right behind a tree. From reading online that’s not bad for a beginner right?? I had like 6 chances for par and blew them all because I sucked with my wedge and my putter. I feel good about the rest though.

You did great. Some guys play their whole lives and can't break 100.

Well, that makes me feel awesome haha. I have a solid drive and finally made great contact with my irons and hybrids. But my short game sucked lol

If you shot 100 with a lousy short game, you did fantastic. Work on your chipping and putting and your scores will improve dramatically.

Ended up getting a Titleist hybrid bag. So much better than carrying the cart bag. It's much lighter and the shoulder straps are way more comfortable...

Damn that Kapalua round was the last time I touched a club. Golf stopped being fun my clubs are still packed in the bag just as they were from the flight home. After years and years with scores hovering just on the +/- side of par not being able to break 80 anymore just got frustrating. Kinda surprised the itch never came back didn't realize it had been this long.

I've tried to learn not to try to take it as serious as I would like. 73 is my absolute best round. Finally broke into the 70s this year with 76 again, hover around 84 most the time, but I try to be realistic and enjoy it by using that time with friends and my brother. Golf is just the bonus to the relationships and time ive spent with those around me.

Shot a 105 today, my second legit full round. Think it’s only about my 8th time on a course now so I’m not ashamed. I have got to figure out how to hit a pitching wedge!! Any club that I have to “dial it back” and can’t just go full open I am struggling with and that’s mainly the pitching wedge.

I just stated going to the range and hopefully hit the damn ball more consistently then I’ll go to the golf course. I bought a set of king cobra irons from some guy on offer up. I was told king cobras are decent to start. And a couple of putters and woods and me downs. Can’t wait to improve

I need to get out, haven’t played since my eldest brother got diagnosed with Parkinson’s 2 years ago. It’s not like I’m going to be able to play forever myself. I enjoy tin cupping it too much and go for things if they’re even remotely possible. Broke 80 only once and have one ace and drove a 300 yd green. Distance off the tee is hard, accuracy off the tee is harder. Irons are easy by comparison.

Same here. Have a 16ish handicap, a few 300+ yard drives and one ace under my belt. Irons are easy, wedges even easier. Drives are the crux that I cannot get consistent.

Still a super fun game. Been working on the mental aspect the most recently by not having high expectations. Used to be a single digit handicap, but working on not "expecting" sub 80 (or even 90) rounds anymore. Just working on enjoying the game for what it is. Has helped a bit as I'm not frustrated on the course anymore.

I think general perceptions would be helped immensely if they showed more of the players that don’t make the cut. Not good for highlights but seeing how frequently even pros make mistakes might help lower expectations and speed up play. Too many players(good and bad) spend far too long lining up each shot because that’s what they see on tv.

That’s why Michael Block was so popular with the spectators, he’s more like a normal person. It was fun to watch Victor Hovland a couple weeks ago when he was hitting out of a bunker and absolutely plugged it into the side of it about 6ft in front of him.

Local course put American Flags on the sticks for Memorial Day weekend. Really liked that they made special holders so that the Stars and Bars didn't have to hit the ground...

I saw a meme the other day that said Tiger Woods hit 80% of greens from 100-120yds out. If a guy that is top 3 best ever to play the game still misses from 100yds 20% of the time then the rest of us should really not get too worked up when we miss even the "easy" shots.

I do video production and got to do a video for a local small business owner close by. Had a blast and loved how it turned out.
